Kids at KCIS are very happy, they can learn English and Mandarin easily without pressure. Teachers are generous to students and the school has discipline at a certain extent.

They have lots of performances on stage especially for special time of the year, and this is truly an intensive way to express themselves freely.

How old is your kid now? There are two campuses, one for KG/lower primary and the other for upper primary.

Yes, they do have secondary school and they are adding one level each year. FYI, Form 4 is their highest level at the moment.

I heard many of their teachers are came from ESF, so I have confident for having my kid with KCIS. As for Chinese, no doubt their curriculum is up to/above standard, actually I am happy that they are teaching traditional chinese characters and also they ought to speak in Mandarin/Putonghua daily throughout the lessons.

My kid is very young and I have applied KCIS nusery. I have just heard KCIS has International primary and secondary schools. That's why I want to know more about it.

If you want your kid to study there, do you plan to let your kid study abroad after he/she finishes the secondary school? By the way, what kinds of subjects your kid studies now? Is there any difference between the traditional schools?

So what have you heard about KCIS so far?

If you require your child to have high standard in both English & Chinese with minimal homework but is competent to do on his own, why not give it a try?

With all the news lately, I just got fed up with the local schools' teaching approach.

You still have much time to decide from now, whether you would like your baby to study in local or international school provided you have no problem for the tuition fees, FYI KCIS doesn't require debenture but only 2 month's deposit(refundable).

Thanks a lot for your info. In fact, I only heard KC local primary school is very good and I don't have any info on its international school. That's why I want to know more. Maybe you think I am too early to think about this but I want to plan my kid's kindergarten which will affect his future school selection. May I know the school fee? Most of the students are Chinese or foreigners?

Hi shirley,

You have mentioned about your application for N1 at KCIS, were you able to arrange for a school visit at Ching Wah campus? I suggest you phone the school for a tour and ask for a brochure to know the school better.

I don't have an accurate ratio of races from school, but I do see foreigners in the classrooms and they are playing nicely with local/non-local chinese.

Yeah, the kids have had a great performance. I realised that this was the first time they have the Mandarin group to perform seperately. They have done a great job.

The kids are now looking forward to the camp.

Absolutely, they're all looking great! By the way, I've heard there will be a camp soon, do you know when and where? Will it lasts for many days? I haven't received any note from the school yet, have you?

I am not sure about the date of the camp. The p.4 one will be in March, lasting for 4 days. I think the P.6 one will be more or less the same.

Thanks for your info. It will be the first time to have camping for my kid so there will be lots of preparation work to do beforehand.

Do you think they will stay in an apartment of really like those camping fire at tents? Sorry I have no idea at all

, please share with me if possible.

BTW, the parents' meeting will be starting in Feb. and my appointment is on 16th Feb, when is yours?

Mine is on 15 afternoon. :)

As for the camp, they will be staying in some camp sites (with premises), not those with tent. So don't worry. You may visit them on the last night and have barbeque or party with them, or be a parent helper.

Usually my son will soon forget about home once he get to the camp. ( gals maybe better I think) No mobile phone will be allowed and the school will arrange lots of activities for them. The school will advise to give at most $100 pocket money for kids. :)

Still in office? Thanks for giving me a clearer picture from the camping arrangement. I bet not only boys would forget us parents at home but also girls too, once they are bounded with lots of fun-learning activities.

It's good that they can bring some pocket money with them, I hope an octopus card will be helpful too.

Do you think joining camp will also be graded as part of their projects? I'm just curious.

Right, Ms. Lewis will be leaving for Canada to further her studies. I think she will not be around after the Chinese New Year holiday.

The discipline at school is getting strict these days, I heard a boy from our class was asked to write some bad remarks in his handbook.

Oh what a pity Ms. Lewis is not staying with the kids anymore. :(

The discipline is always strict. My boy once got a yellow card just because he's playing with his classmates and pretending to hit them. He was so upset for a period for his first yellow card.

No, it won't show on the record, just a simple trick to tame the students. It's reported to the parents in the blue book though.

I think students in KCIS are basically very naive and well behaved. Even this little card from the teacher will scared them a lot.
