多謝你的通知!可惜17/12我下午要返工,不可以親身去註冊,雖然可以郵寄,但都想去看看,有機會見見其他家長傾下!校長只有半小時與家長見面?我有關於課程問題想問呀!

我都收到信了, 到時我會去註冊, 順便聽下又有咩o野講, 剛剛上完浸小嘅綱頁, 嘩! 校舍建造進度張相幾時影o架? 冇半年之前都有4個月前啦, 好唔update喎!

學校係有泳池, 不過好似話係國際學院以及中小學的學生共用.(詳細情況當然係開學先知啦)

學校的介紹上講，為創造多元化的學習環境，將引入國際文憑IB元素。

請問這是乜意思呀？係指學校會採用IB課程? 還是不準備採用IB課程，但用IB的方式來教?

我一直以為一間學校, either IB, or not IB. 邊位可以幫我解釋下學校點引入國際文憑IB元素？

要穿校服;學校將在七月完工,八月交貨;可以考慮稍為延遲八點三的上課時間,遷就八成半非沙田友;強調"專中有博,博中有專"的重要;一定會拔尖補底;小一收了五班各32人,有兩班主任;全校教師比例約1:24;認為課程只有英基才能"拍得住";一定贏過同區的倍僑...唔記得咁多喇

I was disappointed about the arrangement of the Q&A session. The room for the meeting should normally accomodate 20 people at most. Why didn't they book a larger conference room for such important event (scheduled event, not ad-hoc event). The letter also states the Q&A session would be started at 2:30pm, but it was started much earlier than that.

Having said that, I got more information from the Principal about the school and her thought. I am happy about that.

What kind of cirriculum will this school use? Why is it better than Pui Kui? Can you tell more in details? Thanks.

校舍都未起好，教材又未準備好，連教師都未請齊，咁快講d咁嘢?有何憑據?

作為校長，如果真係呢個時候公開講d咁嘢，其個人素質...真令人聯想起董伯伯的假大空。

There must have been some misunderstanding.  I did not heard from the principal of the following:

1.) 一定贏過同區的倍僑

2.) Students are allowed to use the swimming pool insides the building of the School of Continuing Education

3.) Teacher to student ration is 1:24

What I heard from the principal are:

1.) The "location" and "facilities" of the Baptist U Secondary and Primary school are better than Pui Kiu.  She did NOT mention curriculum nor any other areas. (My comment : I think she should avoid making any comparison at all.)

2.) She has a good relationship with the School of Continuing Education, so she think the primary & secondary school students can use the swimming pool.  She also said even if they cannot use that swimming pool, there are plenty of swimming pools in Shatin.  Therefore, parents don't need to worry about that.

3.) The teacher to student ration is 1:13.

Has the principal talked about the cirriculum? Has she said that it is similar to ESF's? Are all subjects taught by Native English teachers except Chinese?

- Curriculum like ESF?: Sorry, I cannot remember any discussion on ESF.  However, I think they are different styles of school.

- Teachers: The principal said she will employ “good” teachers, who are not easy to find today.  She does not have strong preference on nationality and yr of teaching experience.  She may also go aboard for hiring.  My interpretation is that there will not be all native Eng speaking teachers.

Teaching language: Chinese & English in the 1st year.  The 2nd yr and onwards will be English.

Lunch Box: May be arranged with the canteen of the School of Cont. Edu”

School facilities opened for public: Will be done in a controlled manner, e.g. arrange the elderly to use computers.

Others: No P3 class in the 1st year.

From my observation, I think at most 1/3 of the parents attended the Q&A session.  Probably, it's good if any parent who attended the session can share what they can remember.

本人當日亦在場，陳校長根本沒這樣說，她只是說學校的設施較優勝，但沒有說過課程會比培僑好。
究竟發表這些言論的人，是否參加那次家長會呢﹖
我發覺近日在不同的討論區中均越來越多抹黑直資學校的情況，我想作為家長的必須要小心，以免誤信不實的訊息。
在激烈的競爭底下，不排除別有用心的人會利同討論區達到目的。

就如MnD所講，我當天亦聽到陳校長說是雙班主任制，師生比例是1:13(不是1:24)，游泳池可用鄰近浸會大學國際學院的，我也沒有聽到陳校長說拍得住EFS同贏Pui Kiu喎？

我大約下午2:40註冊，簡介室內擠滿了家長，聽到一位男教師說是因為活動多book不到較大的會議室，的確看到簡介室旁舉辦什麼資優學校研討會，上次聽簡介會的演講廳也有活動。我是第二批聽簡介會的，氣氛很好呀！

ann818真的有出席當天的簡介會？為什麼聽到的內容和我及其他家長有這樣大的分別，這個forum是家長們分享交流的地方，幸好我當日有出席，否則信了ann818的訊息就不好了。
