Are your child studying in KGV? or in one of ESF primary school? My son is studying in Beacon Hill P5 now. Can you please give some advise for their Secondary School.

My aunt's daughter is at KGV. She had an interview directly with the principle and entered to S1 second half year (skipped the 1st semester because the principle said her standard is high enough to skip). I think that KGV and Shatin College are both good secondary schools among ESF.

Dear CCDAD,

It's quite well known that KGV is school with good reputation and academic result. Just like other famous schools, there is ususally with a class or 20% student is only so so.

As you son has already studied in BHS P.5.  You should have a lot of channels to get the information about KGV. You may direct ask KGV regarding your queries !

One KGV student told me that the academic results of Shatin College is better.

IGCSE形同國際中學會考。劍橋大學國際考試部昨日舉行「香港輝煌計劃」嘉許禮，以表揚在今年6月舉行的IGCSE考試中金榜題名的香港考生。

於英國文學取得全球最佳成績的劉露依(Fiona)年僅16歲，就讀於英基沙田中學，出生於英國的她，曾居於美國、北京及澳門，說得一口流利英語、普通話及廣東話。對於獲獎感興奮的她說，只是在考試前一晚才準備。不過，劉太則補充，女兒自小愛閱讀，尤其在11歲後特別對書籍愛不釋手，每日總會花2至3小時閱讀。Fiona說看書有幫助，並推介講述日本軍人的《Across the Nightingale Floor-Lian Hearn》。

I have two  bosses with kids in Beacon Hill before.    One said the overall academic result of ESF Secondary School is not very ideal because many kids expect that their parents would send them overseas  sooner or later. This boss transferred his kid to a DSS secondary.

The other boss sent her son to England Boarding School upon completion Beacon Hill primary two years ago. She says the kids in HK are surrounded by too many temptations.  She is happy with his son's development now.

Maybe you are right,

Accoding to 星島日報,  Fiona is a student of 英基港島中學.

According to Ming Pao, Fiona is a student of 英基沙田中學

According to South China Morning Post:
Three local pupils have come top in the world in this year's International GCSE examinations.
Connie Leung Hong-ni, 15, from Sha Tin College, scored the highest mark in co-ordinated sciences, the best mathematics student was Priscilla Poon Ka-yee, 15, from German Swiss International School, and Fiona Murray, 16, from Island School, came top in English literature.

Among the ESF's most distinguished performances this year were from two students who actually scored the highest marks globally in the International GCSE:Fiona Murray (Island School) in English Literature and Connie Hong Ni Leung(Shatin College) in Coordined Science.

IB results of some IS:

Ninety four out of 95 students at Chinese International School passed the diploma, with an average score of 36. One student received a perfect score and two scored 44.

Students at the English Schools Foundation's Sha Tin College - the first ESF school to switch to the IB - achieved a 95 per cent pass rate, with 22 per cent of the 78 students scoring over 40.

Twenty seven out of 28 students from Yew Chung International School passed the diploma, with four gaining scores of 39 or above.

Results from the French International School were not available.
