我現在人在香港, 今年沒有到上海來. 資料是一班地道上海朋友及我自己的經驗組合而成.

假如你曾跟我一樣, 背著香港人的身份, 帶著3歲女兒, 於03年SARS期間, 身處上海一月多, 沒有朋友, 在上海受到所有人的奇異眼光 - 當時上海人很警覺外地人, 尤其北京及香港, 怕會把SARS帶了進去- 你便會如我一樣, 迫令自己更主動深入上海.

丈夫祖家在滬仍有物業, 故我們需要經常踏足上海. 去年暑假兩月, 我跟女兒再到上海, 認識了一群地道父母, 現成了仍有聯絡的朋友.  回港後, 才見到critic 這個topic, 看見有些問題其實我已是知道的, 便多事忍不住口, 以此特殊身份插咀了. 香港人在上海始終屬於外地人, 在人家的地方生活, 互相照應是必要的. 尤其大家身邊也帶著孩子, 曲折的路絕對不能多走.

OL Mommy,

I also 多事忍不住口, I read your other topic about IAPA picture dictionary, don't buy it if you have not placed the order. I knew that product for long time. I don't think it's worth (I think it's OK for babies & parents don't have time to read to them)  If your girl is 5, there's many other CD-rom material better than that.  If you want her to learn language, there are many other good CD rom can use, instead of learning a 'single word'.  If you want her to be more knowledgable on everything, why not spend time to read books?

Actually, the said CD-rom aroused my interest mainly due to its multi-languages approach.(English, Japanese, French, Spanish, and Italian.)

My girl started awareness on some vocabularies in new languages.  e.g. She learnt some french words in Madeline, and some Spanish words in Dora the Explorer..... That's why when I found that topic about IAPA, my greedy mind sparkled immediately, I wonder whether this CD-rom can let her learn all.

In my position, I receive many magazines / newsletter stuff in China, try to see if you can subscribe or get a free copy of "Family & Eduction", an English monthly magazine, published by Cityweekend & Ringier.  All about family & education in Shanghai, provide lots of international schools/playgroup etc.. information.

I think your girl is big enough to use computer, I will highly recommend Rosetta Stone program. The method is just like learning our mother tongue, you try the demo or ask your girl to try and see if she likes it.

Seems that all of us are very busy. Were you alright last weekend. As both of my bedroom and kids' room are facing east, our windows were attracted by the strong wind and rain. It's so terrible that I couldn't sleep well and worrying abouy my window would be broken.

You have back to Shanghai? let's organize a lunch next week is allowed. I'm very busy but boardband in the office is very fast - same speed as HK, so I couldn't resist peeking during office hour.  I've found a teacher to teach me pin yin, 2 hours on every Saturday. I'm not sure if it helps, but I have written down a script (I need to talk about everyday) asking the teacher to correct my pronunication.   My son is calling me, bye

Hi all moms,

I'm almost tired to die after a few days' of unpacking and crazy buying of household products.  It's just like doing 3 months' work in 4 days.  Luckily, my house really looks like a "home" now.  And that's why i have no time to say "hi" to all moms in SH.  I'll come to SH with my family on 16/8, see you all later.  

My internet speed is quite slow to go to BK, other local website is OK.  So, it is appreciated if SH moms can email your mobile phone no. to me ([email protected]), then i can contact you later.

Welcome on broad. It is normally to access BK with slow speed in SH. We couldn't access sometime. I always think the broadband in SH=56k in HK.
