Re: 有沒有香港區靈糧堂幼稚園的媽媽呢?
My daughter will start her K1 in Sep 2005. We didn't prepare anything for the interview since Liang Lang Kindergarten has her unique belief ( we really agree that parents should provide a happy and creative school life for our children, at least this 3 years).
The interview was not complicated. The whole process would be accompanied by parents. Firstly, 3 students would be led in a classroom. They would be asked to choose his/her favourite toy, then a teacher would be assigned to observe and communicate with the child. It took around 5-7 minutes. ( roughly)
Secondly, the children would go to a large classroom which started another round. This time would gather around 10-12 children and their parents. 2 teachers would sing some songs with us. Afterwards, the headmistress came in and joined us. Lastly, she called every child's name who needed to go in front of the teacher's desk and said goodbye to the headmistress. For us, she pointed on my daughter's photo which sticked on the application form and asked my daughter who she was. My daughter answered by her name and then goodbye.
I felt that LLK concerns more on the child's responses, e.g. child can speak out his/her name, who the accompany are ( parents/ grandmother), manners ( thank you and goodbye). They didn't ask parents many questions. They rather focused on the child personal feedback. In fact, there were too many applicants last year that I was afraid that my daughter would not be chosen.( she was the smaller child (DEC born) among the whole). From my opinion, we have the responsibility to let our child to be a happy baby, no need to chase those high ranking, high marks only. We should think how to initiate them to read and learn by themselves. Let them know the right manner and belief in this stage. Bye
God bless,
