My 7-year-old daughter joined that for 2 yrs and my 4-year-old son started last summer. Both enjoyed the courses very much and frequently remind me to join their course again this summer.

My comment is that the native teachers, even the assistants speaks very good English and they are very caring. They encourage kids to express their feelings through exploration in Arts and music.

Both my sweeties joined a one-week workshop last summer, my daughter on Witches and my son on musical theatre "Fame". My daughter made a very beautiful waist-height witch model, using cards and paints and a big poster to examplify her image of a clever witch.

My son was able to perform the drama "Frame", with the songs, dance steps and actions. Although it's not perfect, it's very impressive. Just imagine he was only a three-year-old.

May I make a note here. There was a very rude male teacher, called Adrxx (not exact spelling) who openly scolded a naguhty boy in the open performance (a course whcih my daughter joined in summer 2003). I'd never seen such an impolite teacher who "humiliated" a small kid in public. The boy's mother, was very upset and complained him after the show.

Please remember, no Adrxxxx there.

P.S. They have launched the summer enrolment and 'll join their courses again for the benefit of my sweeties.

Dear KSun,

i am thinking to let my 8-year-old daughter to join a course named "Communication Skill". However, I am uncertain if she is able to enjoy or to learn under a full English atmosphere, as my daughter is a native Cantonese, even though she can communicate in simple English. Would you please help to clear my doubt?

My son has just turned 3 years old 2 days ago and will start his first lesson in Musical Theatre next week. I will let him continue with their summer workshops if he enjoys the course. However, your very negative comments about the Mr. Adrxxxx does concerns me a little. Do you mind sending me his full name via PM? Is he an instructor of Musical Theatre or of any other course at Kids Gallery?

About Mr A, I'll check next week if he's still teaching there. If so, I'll PS you or I'll disclose here for his non-existence. As far as I know, he was still there after last summer and so I clearly indicated to the manager that we WOULDN'T join any of his classes.

As far as I know the Teaching Assistant in each class knows Cantonese and she, mostly a young lady, would help in Cantonese (my kids told me about this). Don't worry with your 8-year-old daughter. She is old enough to follow the other kids if necessary.

My son has been attending their classes for sometime now, both regular classes and summer workshops. Their performing arts courses are good. My son is attending Musical Theatre now and he enjoys it very much. However I do have some reservation about their arts & crafts classes. I stayed in the classroom once since my son wouldn't stop crying. And I noticed the teacher just ask the kids to follow one step after another to create an artwork. The artwork was therefore usually very pretty (which makes the kids and their parents happy). But in my opinion, it doesn't promote creativity among the kids. It's also not suitable for children who don't like just sitting there following the teacher's instructions.

It's really good to hear your comments about Musical Theatre. My son will attend his first class this week. I have chosen MT because my son loves to sing, act and dance and is not shy at all to express himself. On the other hand, he is not particularly excited about doing artwork. I just hope I have made the right choice for him. BTW, which time slot is your son attending? Mine is going on Wednesday afternoon.
