yes academic wise, the chinese way achieves better. but this is only about the academic side. In chinese way, a whole bunch of ppl who are not on the top can have a far better academic than the british way, that's one of the important things about the chinese way, v.s. those in the british who are in the average or below average could be very worse, similar to those in other developed western countries. But for a super brilliant person, no matter which way, he/she can still succeed.
Academic is not everything in a person's life. That's the point of view in western countries. Even the Math teacher in this episode agreed that education should have certain weight on individual's needs, as opposed to Chinese way that emphasize on collectivism, and play down the individuality. |
