Do you know the ratio between the interview offer and final offer? Just wondering how competitive t ... I believe once you are offered an interview, the chances of success are very high (I would say 80-90%, altho that is just a guess.) Basically ESF operates on a non-selective basis, meaning they only issue confirmed interview letters to ppl they can offer seats, plus about 10-15% waitlist applicant interviews (as they know from experience that some may not take the offer or a few may fail.)
In other words, if you have a confirmed interview letter, they have a seat for your child as long as he/she meets their standards. The performance of other ppl doesn't affect her chances at all. This year, ESF changed the rules a bit so I guess child performance plus parent interview will both need to meet their standards (but the fact that it's not competitive - ie. the overall performance is not pitted against others - still stands.
That's why for ESF, it is harder to get the interview letter than it is to pass the interview. (Other international schools will interview 3-4x the number of candidates vs spaces and then choose the best, and waitlist the rest who pass their requirement.
