英華小學不是停辦了好耐而於2003年復辦，爸爸真是舊生嗎？

The reference of alumnus probably is for the secondary school.

How old is your son? What grade is he studying (K1-K3)?

The first piece of homework you should do is to understand the primary school, and I think the father may not be familiar with it. There is a lot of info in Ying Wa Primary School's web site, a good starting point for understanding the school.

I think there are no remarkable differences whether an applicant's dad is an alumnus of Ying Wa College or not in terms of preparation for P.1 admission (except that the daddy can talk about his good old time in the secondary school).

However, your son will be grouped in a category which should stand a better chance for admission (as for this year, around 30 places will be reserved for siblings or sons of Ying Wa College alumni).

每年小一及中一入學申請, yw中學舊生會會員都會收到舊生會通訊, 有特別一張form要填, 好似要入會超過才兩年合資格

如想囝囝申請, 爸爸舊生要早d準備入舊生會

hope is not too late...
1.  the YW old boy must register to the old boys association for at least 2 years.
2.  if above requirement met, you could put down the YW old boys association membership number on the application form.
3.  all the interview and selection process will be the same as all other applicants. HOWEVER...
4.  all the old boys' child's application will be under old boys assoication board's monitoring.  They have a certain amount of reserve seats.  They have their own scoring system to ladder the old boys' child's applications.
5.  So, the child will be offered seat if
- success in the normal interview; or
- the first x (depends on the reserve seat for that year) in the old boy's application ladder.
6.  What I heard is even in the old boy's queue, the case still need Ms Lam's agreement.  So, the interview with Ms Lam is important.

I remember that the P1 application forms are different between outsiders, alumni's children and those whose siblings are currently studying there. Not sure about the precise requirements in the form for alumni's children though.
