Your case may possibly be different because your wife might have handled most of these tasks for you. In my case, my wife has to rely on me (if not totally) in gathering information.

Well, my wife has taken up the most privileged task - teaching our son. So apart from playing and reading with him, I venture to get involved in matters related to P.1 admission (from information gathering to attending briefing sessions and preparing for interviews).
Famous? Popular? "Noble"? Didnt realise we have noble school at HK. As far as I see it the students from DBS, YW, St. Paul Coed etc etc are the same, some may be smarter....but noble feel? What does that means? Most of the graduates from these school goes to the same university and do similar profession.
