yes, i fully agreed that the age factor is also a very important factor that affect the result. mine is a super small girl (end of dec). at first when i applied for the kinder for my girl years ago, i just selected the one i liked most and told myself that if she could get a place, then i would go ahead to let her be a small girl, cos' i believed that the school could facilitate her to enter a good primary school. finally, she stayed happily in the kinder up till now, and i trusted the school did provide her a very good all-round development. however, after the start of the P1 game, it's totally a nightmare. she was rejected by a no. of schools and now she just got a place for 2nd in. when i discuss this matter with friends who got children in primary, they told me that the school principals of most of the primary schools did like to accept those big boys and big girls. even the kids are of same ability, if there is only 1 school place, they will accept the big one than the small one. in this regard, i've already planned ahead - if my girl did not get a place in DSS or private schools this year, i will join the game again next year so that my girl may have the advantage on age at that time.

My girl is a small girl (Nov 05). I bet I have underestimated the age factor (notably, many primary schools prefer big kids). Anyway, she is a very very cheerful girl and she doesn't know what's up. ... |
