I think it is good to meet the principal before the starting of the new school year if the kid is really far below standard. It's a good chance for the principal to know more why the kid has such a poor performance. Are there any learning difficulties? or Is he over protected by his parents?
As I know, the principal emphasis parents have to fully support their kids. I totally agree that parents had a significent role in the family. Maybe parents would get pressure under this policy. However it's also a good reminder to ourselves.
In the parents' meeting this year, a father shares how God helps him on teaching his two daugthers. One is very smart while the younger one has learning difficulties. He also appreciates what the school and the teachers did for his younger daugther. It is really touching.
I have two boys study in this school. One is now in P.2 and the younger one is in P.1. Although they have different standard, they both enjoy their school life.
