1) no! unless your girl chose to attend extra activities...Ha ha donations? As my memory, no such things require. I donate less than HK$100 per year..
2.) St. John ambulance Team, Choir, Orchestra.....
Orchestra depends on the instrument you learn, actually not much....

Hi,

Bingo ! I received the offer letter yesterdary. GHS has offered a S.1 place for my daughter. We have to make a decision whether we accept the offer by 2 Feb 2005!

呀女三個同學都收到信, 但佢地全部都話唔讀, 話仲有得博, 因佢地成績都唔錯架.

Can any GHS's parents or others give me some advice or comments on GHS's curriculum, its mission and the academic results ? So that I can make the decision.

Hi ,

I in fact have gone through GHS's website and understand its mission.

However, as I have mentioned early in this topic, does it still a good school to study in view of its academic results and other developments since if we only compare its HKCEE or HKAL's results, it is not a particular excellent school in these aspects.  Can any GHS's parents share your views ?

Hi, my girl in F2.

If I praise the school, will not be fair. But that fact is that if I do not agreed with its mission, teaching method, and satisfied with its result , I will not let my girl to study in there. Plus I need to pay 3.5K per month.

Honestly , I think it is worth .

The question is "What is an excellent school you are expecting?" I think the most important point is that your daughter receives what she thinks is the best, happiest and most suitable education. If teachers only push for best results, every weeks tests, they are just a copying machine.

I believe you have made the choice otherwise you did not give up others and applied Good Hope in November.

I cannot fully understand this message, but for your information, when we applied GHS in November, we give up nothing.  We still can apply other government school in round 1 & round 2 provided that we sign acceptance with GHS.  So, a lot of changes during November to this moment.  So, a lot of parents like me, applied it first & see what's the next.  Of course, it is time consume to do a profile & arranging time to interview, so for me, GHS is good, otherwise, I will not waste my time to apply it.

To all BK,
I still receive nothing in my mail box, I've called GHS this afternoon & learnt that letter will be sent from now up to end of January.  I'm not eager, all up to the god's arrangement.

On the other hand, for my daughter's classmates, they told us they will not take it, I know some of them could not afford the school fee after deeply calculate their household income.  Of course, one of them got very good acadamic result, she ranks 6/200 in the form.  I believe St. Paul Lam Tin must accept this girl if she apply it in round 1, it is because St. Paul Lam Tin is only concern the acadamic result.  And St. Paul Lam Tin is the same group with St. Paul Convent, they got same excellent HKCEE & HKAL result.  That's why this girl will not accept it.

So, I think everyone has their own decision & BK could be given a room for sharing.

I would have a thought that you can only apply one school, i.e. Good Hope for the first round as I did last year. We cannot apply other school at the first round so that's why I said you made your choice.

Dear all BK parents :

Thanks for all your advices. I think I can make up my mind that I will accept the offer.

By the way, would GHS parents please tell (or email) me the tel. no. of any private bus service to go to the school as I have contacted GHS's school bus service, they do not have any service to serve areas in the North District (i.e. Sheung Shui , Fanling)
