Re: Creative Primary School and Kindergarten Vs York
I got offer from both, but didn't pay the deposit to York because I don't want my son being the 'tool' for building the school's image. In the principal talk, she always emphasized how small their children were when sitting for the Cambridge Starter exam and how many shields their school got.
I could feel that they would push the children so that they can get good results in the Cambridge exam. Then the school can hang the big banner outside the school.
But I think their method works. Letter names, letter sounds, Phonics... I just don't appreciate the commercial feel.
As for CPKG, I like their environment (big, new and clean) and their willingness to try new things, always initiates new ideas in their curriculum. They don't have much homework but train kids to think and express themselves. |
