Good for you and your child.

Peer group is important.  Some HK students went to Canada spending a few years in College with no significant improvement in English.  The reason is that all these HK students stick together and speak Cantonese all the time.

For your child to speak English with other students all the time, he must have a very strong English background.  Though I think your case is an exception rather than the norm, I still have to send my congratulations to you and your child!

Keep on taking the full advantage of the cultural mixture in PKC.

No, he doesn't have very strong English background. I said "sometimes" not all the time, but still good for him. He doesn't speak very good english, I just can say "not bad". He is willing to speak and keeps improving. I am happy for it anyway.

小心校服公司已搬了

校服公司七月發出的收據, 地址是希爾頓中心3樓某舖, 早幾日打電話去想上門補買校服, 他們好客氣說有要求的尺碼, 叫隨時上呢, 但沒有説明已搬了, 去到希爾頓中心, 找不到, 再問管理員, 說他們4月1日經已搬到石門的工業區, 再打電話去校服公司問, 佢地先話搬咗.

係, 佢地喺七月賣校服個陣應該講清楚, 最簡單就係將新地址個印章印在單據.

另外, eClass 早排有學校通告, 通知了新的密碼用呢login, 但始終無法login到, 終於我用翻舊既密碼, 結果又login到, 唉, 都好.

請問G1是否還不能用e-class？我到現在還沒有收到學校通知login和password哦！

另外，學校之前有通知圖書館的login和password，但是我之前想幫仔仔續借都入不到去哦！

Last year, we did not get the login and password until November. This year has improved.

Anyway, you may ask the teachers in the school meeting on 19th this Friday.

同大家分享一個經驗, 每次大型家長項目, 學校附近的泊車表位一早就滿, 隨便泊街就一定會抄牌, 我估係因為附近的居民投訴.

雖然學校好幫忙, 一般開始抄牌時, 禮堂主持項目的司儀都會宣佈 [抄緊牌], 但家長要走餐死出去, 駛走又唔知泊去邊.

明晚是否開車到校, 請小心考慮.

根據通告, 我的理解是, 在今天晚上, 家長們能和老師和其他同班的家長在各班課室面談, 確是個好機會, 別忘了討論以下的議題:
1.  eClass (內容, 登入, 下載, 課堂內容)
2.  功課的質和量 (多少, 好不好, 壓力)
3.  默書和評估 (次數, 深度)
4.  課外活動 (選擇, 校車配合, 安全性)
5.  和老師和其他家長聯繫 (電郵, 電話)
6.  普通話 (程度, 如何協助, 同步閱讀)
7.  英語 (聽, 講, 寫, 文法, Book Max)
8.  有意見如何反影

學校在9.19的項目十分好, 比上年好, 最好就是能夠在課室中和班主任和各科老師會面, 雙向溝通, 好!

另外, 在課室門外看到一些課堂紀律或和德育有關的字句, 看來學校已逐步加強孩子德行的培養 - 這也是我們中國人的傳統文化, 亦是很多家長所想的, 好!

I have seen some concerns about Chinese (non-foreigners) teachers teaching English.

I don't know that many English teachers in PKC. I have spoken over the past with 3 Chinese and 1 foreigner teachers. Their English standards are generally good. To be fair, their standards are way higher than the average English teachers in other schools.

同意 iamgiuliano, 培僑的英文老師普遍的英文口音比許多其他直資及私校都好. 而且在許多學校中, 中國人英文老師比較有責任心, 教出來的學生的程度一般都比外藉老師好. 我亞囡三年入面有兩年都係中國人老師教, 但口音都好好, 中國人老師教要求會嚴格D, 都係好事!

The school bus company made a whole mess today.

The bus arrived 30 minutes late. Nobody called me.

I called the auntie in school bus. She said my child was not in her bus today... No definite answer could be given. She could not tell which auntie I should call.

Even if special arrangement has to be made for the coming typhoon, phone calls should be made by the auntie in bus at least, instead of leaving people to wait out there in the wind like a dolt.

I know it is the typhoon.  I later know that they mix up all (primary and secdondary) students in order to get them home before typhoon no. 8.

I understand.  But the aunties could call the parents on the trip.  They got the phone list with them all the time.

Something could always be done to get rid of parents' worries.
