Info and form about Social Security Card

They will mail the card to your address. This is not a travel document, so when your relatives receive it, they really don't need to mail it to you. It'll be good if they can tell you what the number is. Sooner or later, you need to memorize this because it's very important like the HK ID card number in HK.
To apply for a Reentry Permit, you need a Form I-131 Application for Travel Document which you can get online at www.uscis.gov. Read the instructions carefully and if you have any other questions, feel free to post it here.
I suggest to apply for an ID, not a driver license this time because you'll be here for only 2 weeks. You can apply for it at the local DMV office. Many of them allow you to make an appointment online ahead of time. I think the office cloest to you should be Pasadena. You can check on www.dmv.ca.gov |
