Dear parent,

It's reality that you need to consider if you did have a younger kid follow. For my case, I just think of if today I can did it, then go for it so long as it is good for them. It doesn't mean I need not consider their future. It's just depends on your confident in maintaining the present situation for min. 12 years(may be the reserve) together with the preparation for their future study aboard. As estimated before, approx. you need to prepare $6000-7000 per month for each kid and I already said it did seriously affect my living standard.

Dear all,

I also want to seek your advice. How would you choose between APS, CKY and GH? Our preference is APS or GH but my daughter love CKY. Besides, I also have a younger son.....

According to the acceptance letter, the school will look for a new campus that is convenient for public transport. it will also provide free shuttle service between the Sham Shui Po campus and the new campus on school days.

As a mediocre struggling for life at the bottom of the middle class, I am totally empathetic of your situation.
For me, education of my children is the most important. I am always prepared to sacrifice my standard of living for the sake of my children's education.

I think CKY and the other two are of totally different style. I was tortured by spoon-fed education in my old school days. That's why I don't even bother to apply the other two. Absolutely, I would choose CKY if I were in your place.
Of course, if it were DGS, DBS or SPCC, then I would have to consider more seriously.

Hi, everybody,
This is my first time posting message here.  I am a father of 2 children.  Elder son is 5 1/2 and younger daughter is 3.

My son got accepted by 3 primary schools and I am having difficulty deciding which one is "good".

1st school - Think International School.  My son is now studying in their kindergarten at Kowloon Tong campus.  It is quite good as I observe my son's progress.  Both his English and Mandarin, as well as Chinese writing are improving very fast.  They are using Canadian syllabus for Primary school.  And they only have Grade 1 to Grade 8.  Beyond that, we are on our own and find our way out.

2nd school - St Margaret Co Ed at Sham Shui Po (Nam Cheong MTR).  I believe it is an international school but run by Chinese.  When we went for interview, there are many foreign students with us.

3rd school - PLK CKY.  I know this one is very similar to international school too.  At least, their charges is comparable with that of Think International School.  Up to this moment, CKY still cannot tell us their new campus.

Can anyone share with me your opinion?  If you were in this situation, which one will you choose?

My daughter got a offer from CKY, however, now become a headache for me as my family members stongly disagree as they don't know about this school as it's not as popular as MCS, APS, GH, etc.  Besides, they have hesitation on the name of PO LEUNG KUK.

Of course I understand CKY is running IB in which totally different from other tranditional local school, but I am still considering the 2nd draw for MCS (failed on the first draw as she got only the basic 15 points).  Now become a headache for me whether I should accept CKY (in this case I need to give up 2nd draw from Education Bureau as CKY is direct subsidiary).  No family members support me for CKY!

Can anyone comment on CKY?  I am helpless  :cry:

CKY is a private school, so should not affect your 2nd lucky draw. You can still pay deposit to CKY first and join the 2nd lucky draw to try your luck.

Your choice very much depends on which cirriculum you choose. Think IS is Canadian, CKY will go for UK GCE and IB, St. Margaret is local. St. Margaret uses activity based approach in P.1 to 2, and go back to traditional approach from P.3 onwards.

In terms of English /Chinese learning, Think is an IS which has 1 hour mandarin daily, all other subjects are in English. CKY and St. Margaret are both local schools and they have more Chinese and less English, but not sure about the ratio.
