It's been a long time since I last leave my message here.

My daughter went to Le beaumont to attend JP lessons from Oct to June. But don't just depend on learning center, you still have to do some reinforcement at home. I quit LB because it is too expensive $240/hour. Now, she will attend JP lessons in Starters school which is much more cheaper but have to go there after school every tuesday and thursday for 3 hours each.

Currently, she knows how to read three/four letters word. If longer than that, I have to break down those words for her. I think the hardest think is some alternative sounds, which can be quiet confusing for her age. And don't forget to teach them tricky words as you go along.

Le beaumont 在那兒?? 中文即是那間呀?? 240/hr 真的很貴.

你囡囡的 starter school 又是什麼??

我想問你地點解會選JP呀﹖JP自己教易唔易呢﹖我research 有關自學phonic﹐都唔知邊個好﹖我剛剛買左phonic kingdom 1&2試下﹐但聽你地咁講﹐pk又會同jp發音唔同﹐點解既﹖謝謝你地比D意見我。唔該哂﹕-)

我自己做 research 時, 就只看過 jp & letterland, 所以我只比較過這2個 system.

我覺得 jp 比較簡單, 真接, 適合我我女 (當時 20 個月), 又易教.

jp 雖然不及 letterland般 comprehensive (包括了一個 letter 的不同 sounds), 但, 也是對我個小女來說, 巳足夠她對phonics 提起興趣, 對她將來再學 english 又有幫助.

我個女開頭都有看 phonics kids, 因為當時我未對其他 phonics system 有認識. 但我發覺也對她有好處的. 因為 phonics kids 是用 chanting 的, 有節奏, 對我個女 (當時1岁) 都有好的影響.

不過, 當她大 d, 印象 & 記憶長久些時, 我覺得正統, 正確, 正規的 phonics system's training 是比較好的.

sorry,好多問題﹐我大女4歲﹐而家開始接觸英文(她本身說廣東話+法文)﹐幸好佢都好有興趣﹐學得很快。

Le beaumont = 金鐘東山語言中心

Starters school is an English speaking kindergarten in Wanchai, they have afterschool phonics lessons on every Tue & Thu for 3 hours a day. Of course, there may be some shortfall because no. of student might be bigger than Le Beaumont.

嘩, 原來東山咁貴ｋａ!! 我仲諗住去上堂添．不過你覺得老師教得好嗎？？　值不值得去上呢？　你上堂時是那個老師教的呢？　你 share 多些啦，等我再自己再留意下，再考慮下！！　因為我由東涌去，都好遠＆貴ｋａ！！

你囡囡有根底, starter school 多些人也影響不大吧. 最要緊是上堂開心.

i myself like french too. i wanted to learn it at the uni but i don't have extra time at that time. now!! i am too old to learn new language la.......

for my girl, 3rd language like mandarin will be learnt first. for franch may be started around 7. maybe!! just guess not planned. depands on her interest.

Hi chuma,  almost forget to reply you.

我想我自己可以在家教, 因為我是 full time mami, 那可以陪她 "玩" 那麼久??  所以有些東西教下, 學下, 大家都有些目標.  而且, 我學完 jp 之後, 也覺得不太難, 因為我自己也喜歡英文哦, 也有一些 "底"!!

我個女當時 20個月, 無人/ centre會收她的.  我時常提的 jflc, 也只會收 4歲.  但我等她新開學, 適應了之後, 會帶她到 learning centre or private trainner 處上課的.  但我會先考慮 learning center, 因為多些小朋友一齊學開心些, 可以過群體生活.  而且, 專業些嘛!!

之前有個 mami, 龍馬媽媽 or 燁媽媽, 是找 robin chan 的. 好似係, 但我不肯定!!

在香港的 professional trainner 的 information, 可以到 jolly phonics 的官方 website 找到.

[在 website 的左手邊, 尾2一個紅色長方形, 寫着 "training" 的. click 入去, 再在地圖上揀 "asia" 區, 便可以 scroll down 找到.]

你真係好人呀﹗資料好詳細﹐我會試下你建議買的jolly songs + finger phonics自己教。希望唔太難啦。

我女開始學英文有個多月﹐佢真係有D混淆架﹐講法文時又加D英文生字﹐但無法啦﹐我想佢學好D英文。我呢邊D法國小朋友太遲學英文啦﹐6﹐7歲先學﹐已經好難。小朋友早D學﹐學得快D。
