Montessori and Autism - An Interview with Michelle Lane
I am so delighted to present my most recent interview. As many of you know, the incidence of autism diagnosis is on the rise, and parents everywhere are searching for the best therapies to help their children. Since Maria Montessori began her work with children who were learning disabled, many people wonder if Montessori is a good fit with autism therapy.
I've been eager to learn more about the Montessori-autism connection, so when I heard about Michelle Lane's work I jumped at the chance to interview her. Michelle is one of those people who is just amazingly talented in so many areas. Luckily, she's chosen to focus most of her time and attention on using the Montessori method with autistic children.
The school that she founded, The Lane Montessori School for Autism, is the first of its kind. I learned quite a bit from talking to Michelle, and I hope this information will be helpful to many people.
Take a look!
