I can share my experience with you.    

1.  環境 is clean and big enough.

2.  師資 is good.  As I remeber there are approx. 16 kids with 2-3 teachers (one is native english teacher) and 1 helper (嬸嬸).

3. 活動 i.e. seasonal party, visit farm, science museum, central library, etc.

多謝你的分享。請問你是參加上午的兩歲班，還是下午的動動樂，現在上午已FULL，只得下午。你的小朋友上課開心嗎。

I'd attended the last Sat parents' inaugual meeting... very full arrr...

but seems to me that the headmistress + teachers are nice + experience... (at least not ya ya wooo...)

luckily my son likes there too... so I wish the separation in August can be held smoothly...

Last year, my girl attended A.M. class because she must have nap in afternoon.

I think most of kids will like the environment.  Teachers will sing songs, tell story and play with them.  My girl likes it very much.

請問兩歲班/動動樂一年學費幾錢?

my son was bornin may 05, so when I need to apply? and any interview? what kids can learn fm there? or any improvement? I want to know how much per year? and can I just put my son study only 1 year?? cos I want to switch him study in ESF for K1 and K2!! 2 yrs old class is same as "preschool"?  thks!!

The school fee (half day - 3 hours) was $4,850 per month in year 2004-2005 (no miscellaneous fee will be charged).  I think you'd better to check again.  It may be reviewed yearly.

There is an interview with the Principal.  Just a short chat (around 20-30 mins), the Principal will ask you some questions about your kid and she will observe the kid's behavior.  I think they will not reject any applicants.   

Besides, you may call the office for enrollment now because the summer holiday will start soon.  As I remember, I called school for interview in May 2004 and my daughter attended the class in Nov 2004 because she was born in mid Oct 2002 (kids can't attend the class unless they are 2 years old).

I think Yew Chung nursery is a good place if you let your son to study ESF.  The teachers there will train the kids language development, discipline, independent, etc.  Everyday signing, story time, games, artwork.........and also have outdoor activities.   

School fee (half day) was $4,850 x 11 months or 12 months ?????  Sorry, I forgot it.  They have mentioned school fee in its web-site.  You may check it.

thks for your reply but they will help the kids no longer wear diaper?? and use spoon feeding themselves?? I 'm just thinking if I put him in preschool in kln tong or TKO, cos I live in Sai kung.. any idea? thks!

Yes, there is a amah to remind and help kids to toilet.  It's wonderful that kids can eat by themselves without dropping food on table.  The eating gesture is absolutely right.  Besides, teachers will encourage kids to put on socks, shoes, tidy up table after snack time everyday.

In additon, Yew Chung has school bus service, you may check with it's office.  It's around $800 per month.  It's quite expensive in Dec and Jan because the holidays are long    .

Your BB was born in Jan 2006 ?   If I am right, your BB will study K1 in Sept 2009 (3 yrs & 7 mths).  In my opinion, you may let BB takes playgroup before studying nursery in Sept 2008.

You may call the office of Yew Chung for enrollement in Jan 2008 and they will arrange an interview with BB.  Yew Chung nursery will give first priority to its student to K1.  As I remember, the school fee of K1 was a little bit cheaper than nursery.  Pls check it's web-site again for this info.

For your further info., their primary school fee is quite expensive.  It's around $1?,000 per month.  If you can afford your BB studies at Yew Chung from nursery to K3, then go to it's primary school, it's a good way.

But, if you want your BB to study local primary school, you'd better to seek and consider some more kindergartens.  Because some primary schools will have their preference of kindergarten.

小學比幼稚園貴好多喎!!我未有咁快諗讀邊間小學,但我心目中都係比bb讀國際學校,而家開始諗讀邊間幼兒園先.

tinamummy, thks for your reminder, but what do u think if it's worth for me to put my son in YC nursery, as I put him in abacus anyway, or put him in TKO international nursery school or other not expensive one nursery study?? I really feel headache to think about it!! thks thks!!! P.S. as YC nursery fee is not cheap, so i need to be carefully to choose..

How much is the school fee for K1 and K2 in ESF?

My friend's 2 daughters are studying G1 and G3 in ESF and he said the school fee incrument is more than 20% this year.    

You still have lots of time to observe and study.  You may compare ESF's fee of last year and the coming years.  Good luck.

唔好意思,我唔係好明,請問點解讀半日多數升local小學?如果我bb讀半日班,可唔可以升讀其他國際學校(小學),是否會有困難?
另外,YC讀完K2可上小學,但未夠歲數喎?

half day kinder:
*main stream ie English & Cantonese teaching
*have k1-k3
*k3 will do dictation (chinese only)
*no text books for k1-3

whole day kinder:
*international stream ie English & Mandarin
*only k1-k2

I actually only did the research for main stream only, hence, unable to provide too much information on international stream.  Background information, my son has been studying at Yew Chung for pre-school programmes since last March (ie. Romper and now 2 years old programme) and he will be studying in Kentville for k1 this September.

You may not be aware, ESF also aceepts child who complete K2.   Don't forget ESF, YC are international schools, only local schools need to follow the rule of "5.8 years old".
