Being a P3 student (English in 01 group), my girl tried the Elect Workbook last week. She found it so easy that she doesn't need any help in finishing them. I think, the Longman Elect series are more local (examination) oriented while the Cambridge one seems to be benefit for those competent students. There is high level of differentiation between students in school, even within the same group. I am looking forward for the choice of readers. Hopefully, they will show more insight of school mgt.
Under the "SPECIAL" cirrculum as stated in the news announcement, catering for different abilities of the student is one of the major concern. I understand it is difficult to separate more groups with small class size. More resources or tailored-made programs are needed to boost capable students as well as support the relatively inferior one, especially the school culture seems to lean to result (or examination). In the past, quite a number of students gain under the autonomy teaching and learning style, e.g. extensive reading of Evie and Tommy's son.
I really worry if our kids finally become mediocre in general but an examination expert like most of the local primary trained students.
