ranking of girls' schools

How will you rank the girls' schools. Please do not judge only by how many 10As or 9As in public exam but by overall standard and quality of students. also school facility and teachers' quality.

2. Maryknoll
how about St Mary, St stephen's, st paul's convent, marymount, sacred heart, good hope, heep yun.... how will you rank?

呢D只不過係我personal opinion only.  一來我是from Sacred Heart.  以前我覺得Sacred Heart 係讀得幾辛苦, 所以我都冇比我個女讀。(Kindergarten 收咗佢!) 但係我而家聽好多人講聖心巳轉做活動教學,冇以前咁古板, D女讀得好開心。而我亦知道Marymount功課很多, 壓力都大。

i agree that the ranking is just for reference and is not official, but at least we have a clearer idea which are some of the top and 'dream schools' of the majority of parents.
DGJS is the primary school of DGS and they are just next door to each other. DGJS is a private school whereas DGS is government aided. i am not sure how many % of DGJS students promote to its secondary section, but i guess it's majority, since DGS has more classes than DGJS in each grade.

DGJS and DGS are in the same campus and share the same address.   Each year, over 90% of the DGJS girls can enter DGS.   However, from 2005, DGS will be changed to direct subsidy.  If you choose this school, be prepared to pay school fees until F.7.    There are 3 classes each grade in DGJS and 4 classes in DGS.

as you can see here that different people rank the school so differently, but one thing for sure, that among HK girls schools, the top 2 is DGS and Maryknoll. They are really the first class.

Any other parents want to post their ranking?

DGS is no doubt the top school in Hong Kong (no mather it's boys', girls' or co-ed).  The rest, incl Maryknoll, Marymount, St Mary's..., are all "second class".  I didn't mean that they are not the top school, but DGS really leads them by quite a wide margin.  I base my judgement on the overall development of the students, not just by the number of A's or gold medals they got on the athletics field.

How about boys' schools?  Will anybody share their rankings?

I agreed with you totally that girls from DGS are outstanding, especially in English.  One reason is that the syllabus is different from other schools.  I read Eng composition from P1 students and am surprised by their standard.  Besides acedemic and athletics, their result from Music festival is excellent also.  I am an old girl of St. Mary and my daughter is also from St. Mary.  Unlike my time, their Eng standard has dropped quite a lot.  I heard from some private English class that this is also true in Maryknoll, Scared Heart.  The Edu really should review what's wrong.  
But also I heard one very negative comment from DGJS.  Most students are not happy.  May be the school is too tough really.

La Salle Colleage
Diocesan Boys' School
Queen's College
St. Joseph College
Hong Kong Wah Yan College
St. Paul College
Ying Wah Boys' College

I don’t care whether it’s number 1 or not because you can’t say everyone is good in the top 1 school.

可見，成功出於苦幹，天下那有"愉快"學習而成功之道理。

不過，比起Maryknoll，聽說DGS出來的"可娶性"較低，不知是否真有其事。

I agreed that no success is easy, but the key is whether you as the parent can dedicated fully to work with your child.
In my case, I need to work because of money.  I need to take care of two kids.  So I am afraid I am not qualified to be a DGS's mother.
