劍橋英語評核試對報考小學有無幫助呀 ?

據我所知是沒有太大幫助，特別是小一自行收生時，主要是依計分法。試想想就算想加分也無從入手，你說是嗎？

For the 1st and 2nd lucky draw of government allocation system in Sep and Jan, it may be useless. However, for applying private school or DSS, or even the "knocking door to the primary schools" in July, I think it may help you a lot.

As I know, only kids over 6-year-old can take part in the CamEng exam.  However, by the time you apply for P.1, kids must be under 6 years old even your kid is "big boy/girl" who was born in early Jan in the year.
Do you know there is any CamEng exam for kids under 6-year-old ??

However, if your kids reach to 6-year-old before June, there will be a chance. My son is a 'big boy' (born in Mar) and he took the starter exam in this March and he is still a k3 student.

BTW, I know there are pre-starter exam in Mainland China but I don't have any information for this.

想請教你, 你仔仔三月才夠六歲, 報考劍英, 那何時才收到result??
還有, 一般小一的收生與interview 都在前一年的十一, 十二月, 那麼你三月才考, 那portfolio和interview 時應該沒有加上, 而時在敲門階段才發揮功效, 對嗎 ??

謝謝你的提供, 我也知道york 會安排自己學生返大陸考
但我仔仔不是讀york,
而且亦不想回內地考
所以正找適合六歲以下的其他英文試

My son took the exam in Apr. Normally, the result will announce after 1 month, so, I may know it this or next week.

In my son's CV, I have only mentioned he is studying a Starters program in a learning centre after the assessment of the tutor, list the tutor's name in the CV as reference and attached a reference letter in the portfolio. As he have taken 2 stages (stages 2 & 3) of the LCM exam, I think it is enough for him even without the Cambridge program.  

As I seen, most of the school don't read the portfolio but they will not reject you if you submitted the portfolio, it really depends on the performance of your kids on that day.


I realised that you are looking for the exam for your son, LCM (stages 1 - 3) or Trinity (Initial) is ok for kids under 6.

As I know (not very sure), Starters, Movers and Flyers are just only the basis requirement for the whole Cambridge English Program, for worldwide recognizition, you have to take the KET or XXX (can't remember) exam. Check Bristish Council website
