如果你係我，你會点揀？灣仔聖若瑟or喇沙？

我唔係晒命，但真係諗唔通，請給意見。
替小兒去信灣仔聖若瑟及喇沙申請插班，果然比聖若瑟收咗，而喇沙就下星期interview。
Although I don't know the result for La Salle, I have to consider all the possible outcomes as I think I need to make the decision at once after the interview. All BK moms:

1. Which school is better, St Joseph's or La Salle? My impression is La Salle is a bit better than St Joseph's in terms of academic performance, school environment and possibilities to promote to its secondary school. Am I right?

2. I think my son likes St Joseph's more as he knows no one in La Salle.

3. If my son studies in La Salle, we need to move our flat to Kowloon, but I like to live on Kong Kong Island.

4. Some BK mom said La Salle is suitable for kids who are good at sports, but my son is not that type.

5. In fact, my ideal school is 皇仁，La Salle College is my second best. St Joseph's goes third.

6. How are the students in both schools? Are they naughty? Which one is better?

I really don't want to make the wrong decision again as it is not easy for a little boy like my son to leave the school he is familiar and feel happy with. Please share.

其實由你那六點比較來看，已經無須多考慮。

我試試重組你那六點比較，由你的角度看來，喇沙的優點是名頭較響和在你心目中排名較高（其實兩項比較都是同出一徹），而聖約瑟則是從兒子的性格、朋友網絡和距離佔優。

如果你找學校的方向，是在自己能力範圍內選擇最適合小朋友的話，聖約瑟明顯是最佳選擇，為什麼要給名氣影響決定？

如果你的兒子喜歡 ST Jo，就選 ST Jo，
因為是他讀書。在一個自己喜歡的環境下讀書，
更可發揮他們的 flighting heart.

I first sent the letter to La Salle in May. I didn't receive any reply until yesterday.
The lady on the phone told me that my son need to bring stationery, handbook and school report for the interview, so I think he will take a written test on the day.
Of course I know how you feel now. Just give a little patience, or they will call you later. Having the chance to have the interview is just the first step only. I saw some candidates still not accepted by St Joseph's even after the written tests. How many schools did you apply for? I always told myself if my son was not accepted by both school, it would mean that Jesus asked me to stay. And I won't apply for it again next year. So, what we can do is just try our best for our kids.

我剩係報左喇沙咋,學你所講,聽天安排吧.我都知凡事不可強求,但不嘗試過,又好似唔知點咁.可唔可以講我知La Salle 星期幾test呢?再次感謝你.

The test will be held on Thursday, but I am not sure if all candidates will have the test on the same day.

As far as I know, only English and Mathematics in St. Joseph's are taught in English while English and Science are taught in English in La Salle. I have seen some of the Science test paper in La Salle. They are really difficult for primary school students, it takes a long time for them to remember the specific terms  and they also need to use English for their answers. And I think English Maths is easier for students as the main focus is calculation.

My son is hardworking, I need not care too much on his studies so far. If he really is admitted to La Salle, I am afraid I need to give him more support like all other mummies.

My friend told me that even the boy who comes first in class needs to hire a private tutor, but over 90% students can go to its secondary school, why do they need to compete so much?

By the way, what position is your son in his class?
