我係一套兒童教材(English Time)發覺有以下, 是否出錯 ?  但佢地係大公司, 無理由會出錯, 唔係幾明白, 請指教。

Monday is the first day
Tuesday is the second day
Wednesday is the third day
Thursday is the fourth day
Friday is the fifth day
Saturday is the sixth day
Sunday is the seventh day of the week

I think they are right, as Monday is really the first day of the week and Sunday is the seventh day of the week.
I don't know why the calender we have in Hong Kong always not the same as other countries (US or Europe), we always put the Sunday at the begnning of the week. Does anyone know why?
If you have the calender which state clearly the week number, then you will find it Monday is really the first day of the week. Example as below,
JANUARY
wk  Mon  Tue  Wed  Thu  Fri  Sat  Sun

4     19     20     21  22   23   24   25

Does anyone know why the calender we normally use in Hong Kong are not the same as other countries?

What Is the First Day of the Week?
The Bible clearly makes the Sabbath the last day of the week, but does not share how that corresponds to our 7 day week. Yet through extra-biblical sources it is possible to determine that the Sabbath at the time of Christ corresponds to our current 'Saturday.' What a funny question!  I strongly remember that during my secondary, my teacher told us that the first day of the week should be Sunday, so weekend is Saturday.  NOT SUNDAY.

me too, I still remember the first day of the week is the Sunday from the teacher in primary.

Now I have some confuse after reading this topic... how to teach my child??

God spent 6 days to create this world and took the 7th day, which is Sunday now, to rest. That's why we also call Sunday "sabbath day" and go to church to worship Him. By the way, we don't know how long one day was to God when He created this world.
