New Starter for using GD's flash card method

Hi, I've started using GD's method last week to my 21 months old son.  Let's share and support each other !  

I'm also a working mom (but will back to full time mom by end sept) and found that it's not easy to flash 3 times  as I started chinese + dot on the 1st day and add in english word on the 2nd day.

problem encounter :
1)I'm still not flashing fast enough ....
2)found that it's hard to find the good timing to flash

1) u can try :  drop the card from top on the ground
2) u can try : first time before you go to office, 2nd time just right back from office, 3rd time before bb get into bed.

My girl is 3, my problem is , she seems lost the fire....... maybe she got some many desire to play with her own dolls,and read other books, listen to music.....

yup, i agree with u .  they're too busy playing with others ... i can only flash one time dot cards, 2 times eng and 1 time chinese words card today.....
as grandma is here, she likes to play with my bb all the times

so you've bought the cards from Taiwan lar...
I started flashing the cards to my baby last Sunday.  I'm only doing math and english at the moment.  I find that my baby is not too interested in the cards.  sometimes he is not looking at the cards when I'm flashing to him.  and I also find that it's difficult to flash them very quickly to him.

agree, can't flash them very fast. my bb is interested on the first few days.  but he is not feeling well this days and grandma & grandad always at my home , so really hard to find a good chance to flash...
but i 've to keep it . can't stop ...(except he show very dislike...).....

i really hope that he can learn from this and like reading lateron

i'm a new starter by using GD's method to teach my gal's maths (red dots cards) about one month ago, i got the same problem as you both are having now, my gal shows less interest to the cards i flash her, she will only look at eg. 4/5 out of 10, i was so disappointed and don't know anything went wrong to my teaching method or else, so i stop for about a week, then restart to teach her again, flash as fast as i could, take away cards from 2 to 3 each day, but still the same, so i decide to take her to look at the computer, it works, maybe computer is flashing much faster than manually, at least she will look at it, i also start with addition, i don't see her being so excited but at least she's willing to see it, i hope my experience will help, and we may share our experience with each other here in the future too!

My son also only had interest in the first few days.  He now has no interest to finish the manually flash cards.  I reduced to 5 chinese and 5 english.  I thought about to flash them by notebook computer.  However, I'm afraid it will be always stopped by him as he must have interest to touch the keyboard.  Finally, I use by hand and try to flash as fast as we can.  

I find that he likes books more than cards. I put the word cards into folder and show one by one to him.  
He sometimes likes but sometimes not.  Maybe I need to change the words frequently.  

However, he likes the books with word and picture cards on different topics, especially the topics of vehicles more than the word card.  He gets the books by himself and asks us to read to him.  I need to prepare more books with word and picture cards as he seems no interest after he reads 2-3 days.

I think it's o.k. to let him read the word and picture cards.  But I try to show him word cards continuously.

I do hope he likes to reading. Please advise me any improvement and suggestion in this case.  Many thanks.

My little experience is :
if the kid lost interest, then try to flash 4 cards, or 3 cards at one time.

or, flash the picture first, at least he know what the picture is, e.g. flash the bread picture, and he know it is bread and then next day flash the word Bread, so that he can related them.

I've started flash cards to my 3.5 yr old daughter from last week.  She is very interested.   She reminds me to read the card before sleep on every night.  However, she is too excited that she does not concentrate on the words.  Her eyesight follows my actions - put the card down after reading.  It means that she does not look at the flashing one.   I need to move faster.

And, she keeps on asking to get the cards for her to play.

I can't manage her in a claim mood.

I did try 前面圖後面字的方法, My girl more familar with the圖 than the words.
You know this method, not only can teach the bb "words" but also "the name of the 圖".

If bb is small, try to reduce the cards to 2-3 pcs at one time.

U can find glenn doman books from 商X書局, around $50-60/book. Book name is :
"如何教XX閱讀"
Cheapest way is buy from taiwan web.

Hi, I just bought the chinese and english cards from Taiwan yesterday. I haven't start yet, I plan to start next week.  

so do u have any advice on any preparation that i need to do now before actually give him to see the cards ??  I also worry that he won't concentrate on the cards !

in your experience, what is the fastest way to flash the cards ?????

i guess, it should be okay if u can flash the cards on weekend as well, as i believe them can learn anytime. also, u can flash all of them if time is allowded.
