Re: Step ahead language centre
My son attends English Class (K1). Personally, I only have tried Smart Kids in Tsuen Wan Plaza which I absolutely don’t like it. Step Ahead is the second one I’ve tried and stays here till now.
My son’s improvement can’t be easily assessed by me. He likes the English class, he likes the teacher and enjoys very much there. However, he doesn’t like to watch English TV programs at home when he knows that there is bilingual to choose!!! For his age, I only want to provide him an environment with good English, so he can keep on listening and speaking.
By the way, I see the other children in Step Ahead, their language skill are much better than my son in the same age group. Therefore, I think this school is good enough; only it’s my son personal problem. The teacher told me that he is fine since he stopped English conversation for nearly 1 whole year as he attends full day N1 local school (as English playgroup for N1 only available on weekdays which we can’t squeeze time to attend). The teacher said that he has no problem in understanding English, only he seldom speaks; he has improvement after joining this K1 English class after 3 months since Sept last year.
As I see the leaflet introducing Phonics class, I am not that concerning of sentences building and grammers in his age. Since the English level of my son's nursery/kindergarten is not high (actually low), I just want him to have more contact in English than trying to improve his English. If you have queries between English class & Phonics class, ask for Iris or Kam to explain to you in Step Ahead. |
