Is flash cards effective? Where can I learn how to use them and buy some ch

My son is already 28-month old. I heard about flash cards since he was very young. However, I haven't used the cards so far. Is it effective? Is it too late for me to use them now? Is there any course for parents to learn how to used the card effectively? Are there any second hand flash cards to buy?

I have been using Glenn Doman's teaching method for almost three months, i.e. when my daughter was one year-old.  I think the method is effective and the result is encouraging.  I don't think it's too late to start the programme for your son but it'd be better to read the book "How to teach your baby to read" and "How to teach your baby math" by Glenn Doman first so as to make sure if you really accept his learning.
For the cards, you can make them by yourself.  Although it's quite time-consuming, it saves a lot!
