French or Japanese classes

I am planning to let my son learn French or Japanese. I have searched for some info, and found there are several places/playgroups offering these courses.

Any mon got some suggestions where / which centre is good ? I prefer HK side.

My son is 3 yrs old now, and do you think it's too young for him to learn it ?

Re: French or Japanese classes

Hi Ribbon,

My boy is learning French in Kinderu.  It took him a few lessons to get use to the phonetic sounds.  He can't say much yet, but the other kids are progressing well.  So I think 3 years old is not too young to learn a foreign language.    Have you looked at Le Beaumont?

Can you let me know where else offers such courses?

Re: French or Japanese classes

Thanks for the info and sharing.
I mainly checked for Le Beaumont, Kinder U, U-kids.

I totally understand that it takes few lessons for kids to pick up.

I learnt French & Japanese during summer holiday when I was a student. I had 3 classes per week and was progressing very well. After school starts, I only attended the language classes once a wk, and found that the progress slowed down a lot, especially for languages, it's hard to keep up without daily use or practice.

Therefore, I am thinking if I let my son to learn another foreign language,  will it be better to attend it twice a week...

Since I know some simple French sentences and words/vocab, I hope it may help my son to adjust a little bit in the beginning.

Where is U-kids?  Do you anywhere else in Kowloon?

Yeah, I think, for my boy, twice a week would be the best in terms of time and learning.

Re: French or Japanese classes

I went to U-kids today, which is located in Happy Valley. Personally I don't like there due to hygiene and environment factor. For the qualification of teachers and teaching method, I do not have any info or comments.

I also visited Kinder U today, and got some information. I will attend a parent seminar tomorrow, to learn more about their program, teaching method, and understand more about this school.

For Le Beaumont, I haven't visited it yet.

I did not know any foreign language school on Kowloon side as HK side is more convinent to me.
