請St. Cat K3家長發表吓意見

各位St. Cat K3家長,

St. Cat 口碑好, 人人都知. 但係本人有位同事的女兒讀緊St. Cat K3, 佢就話St. Cat唔好,厡因有以下各點,請各位家長俾D意見.

1. 學校唔校禮貌,玩頗的小朋友讀了就越玩頗.佢個女今年去考小學,明明識都唔答,問佢點解,佢話"我識但係唔鐘意答呀!" (真有性格), 佢個同學仔(聽聞在St. Cat一向成績好好)面試完話俾佢媽咪聽,"今次面試D老師一定唔認得佢"點解?佢話"我搣咗我張相然後stick咗個哈哈笑落去囉"

如果我個囝將來好似以上小朋友咁, 我一定好唔開心.

2. 除咗上學之外還要自行另加插很多補習班俾佢上,如果唔係就會俾其他人落後.  佢話連講故事都要去學, 究竟真唔真? 佢話一個月一個小朋友要用HKD6,000 - HKD-7,000如果讀St. Cat.  請問你哋有冇計個條數?

3. 我同事又話St. Cat係學校唔係好校書,全部回家由家長自己校,如果成績唔好,就向家長complain?請問這是不是真的?咁係唔係St. Cat唔識合全職媽媽?

以上各點是本人考慮如果St. Cat 同Kentville都收我個囝,我應該俾佢入邊間?

I am not SC parent, but i hope i would be....
however, regarding your questions, i have some  comments:

** I think the school will not teach the children to do such things, and i believe we cannot rely on the school education, it is unfair to say that the children's behavior represents the school.
Your friend's case is really base on the child's character, familly education, family background..
Also, i don't believe for the graduated children from St. Cat, almost 600 children, their behaviors will be same as this, but instead a lot of private /DSS primary schools love to accept its graduated children.

2. 除咗上學之外還要自行另加插很多補習班俾佢上,如果唔係就會俾其他人落後. 佢話連講故事都要去學, 究竟真唔真? 佢話一個月一個小朋友要用HKD6,000 - HKD-7,000如果讀St. Cat. 請問你哋有冇計個條數?

** it really depands on the expectation of the parents. I believe one of the reason for some parents send their children to St.Cat is due to the reason of higher chance to enter the famous private/DSS primary schools. For those primary schools, they really have  a lot of  requirements, which the children will present a lot of certificates for their profiles in order to be accepted. Therefore, not only ST.Cat moms will send their children to study the extra courses, but also other moms would do so.
just like a person who is a degree holder, will also study another 2nd degree, means he/she wants to have bettter achievement.


3. 我同事又話St. Cat係學校唔係好校書,全部回家由家長自己校,如果成績唔好,就向家長complain?請問這是不是真的?咁係唔係St. Cat唔識合全職媽媽?

** my friend's son has studied in St.Cat, but she really didn't review the books with her son frequently, she just let him go everything, and finally he can also enter a good DSS primary school. She told me she never has any pressures when her son studied in St. Cat.

** it is all my own opinions.

以上各點是本人考慮如果St. Cat 同Kentville都收我個囝,我應該俾佢入邊間?

My son studies in St.Catherine K.3. I cannot find any problems about school or children that your friend described. I think it depends on different children's character. I know lots of my sons' schoolmates. Some of them are polite, some of them are very active and talkative, some of them are very shy(like my son), so don't put too much blame on school. Parents proper guidance and supervision is the most crucial element for child rearing!

I chose St. Cat. because my friend's experience told me that the English standard there was high. Teachers teach phonics and children learn proper English there. School fee is $3600+school bus $820( about $4500 per month,That's all). If parents want their children to join more extra-curricular activities, of course need to spend more money!

I only applied DSS for my son. Now two of them gave him offer. I gave up the government lucky draw because I wanted the "right and chance"to choose for him. Now, government is successful to make lots of parents to pay for the education! Less burden for future!!!

我是路過的，由於囝囝上年是讀st cat的，故此，亦想分享一下。

我覺得st cat是一間十分十分好的學校，功課也不會太深及太多，我囝囝都是自己做的，不用我粗心。而我最欣賞的是st cat的英文水準及制度，囝囝對講英語毫不抗拒，而英語拼音也是十分出名的。

st cat的學生在直資及私小考試上也佔了不少優勢，囝囝現在讀dbspd，而我知道也有不少st cat學生入了此校，而進度也是跟得上的。

請放心﹗st cat是一間十分優質的學校。

Hello Rinapang,
could you please tell me how much Cantonese/ Mandarin they learn at St Cat? Cos English is not a problem for my daughter. I would love for her to build a foundation for the Chinese lang in a fun environment. Would St Cat be able to provide that?

德望是一間十分好的中小學，中學是band 1的英中，但是十分傳統。小學學費大約over$3000，是可以一條龍直升的。小學現時是上、下午校，但是好似遲d轉全日制。

若你想入maryknoll小學，一定要靠世襲或運氣啦﹗

Dear Momfromhkg,

I think St. Cat. provides reasonable  Chinese homework to students. At K1 and K.2 not too much writing, they just need to reconize the words. At K.3, they need to learn different words everyday but just spend little time to finish the homework. No need to worry about the quantity. My son prefers to learn Chinese rather than English. He will read Chinese story book himself. I ask him to do some book report and diary( Of course very simple, but just want to build the good habit for him) during weekend and holidays. He can write sentence himself. Thus, parents need to put effort for helping children to learn good language!
For Mandarin, school has the lessons but not too much. I just review the book with the CD. Since they don't have any assessment on it, I don't use too much time on this!
On the whole, St. Cat can help children to build up good foundation on academy!

我都同我囡囡報咗 st. catherine, 呢家仲等緊result, 我剛聽聞好多家長都話仔囡 interview 時好好, 但都係waiting list, 我想問 st. catherine 收生係咪好睇家長職業同來自邊間小, 中學 ?  同st. catherine 出通知信係咪只有 收 同 waiting 兩款, 無"唔收"呢款 ?

對於讀了St Cat就好大機會入到名校, 我以前都覺得係, 自從我同事個女(今年K3)考不上心儀的小學, 佢就同我講, 你唔好信呀...唔駛讀d咁貴0既幼稚園ga...當初佢女讀呢間, 都係因為佢老婆要, 想個女入女拔, 所以無視女女上校車喊足一個月, 我同事好心痛, 但無奈老婆話事, 佢都無辦法....不過佢話我知:若為子女選讀名校幼稚園, 你唔好期望一定入到名校小學...

My daughter has been accepted K1 am class.  I'm wondering should we let her go because she need to take the school bus every day.  The routing from home to school is 10 mins only (almost last stop) but back to home take almost 1 hr as my home will be the last stop of the routing.   For a such small girl, one hour travelling time is quite exhaust for her everday.
