My 5-year-old son is a Autistic boy and now studying in a mainstream KG. He is calm. He often feels anxiety and tension, especially in new environment or face new challenge. When he cannot follow the instruction given by adults or he cannot complete the task very well, for example, he cannot swim with good posture, he feels frustrated and gives up. No matter how we appreciate his effort being put, he is reluctant to try again. He always want to 'win'. He cannot accept his failure. It will bring him too much difficulties and pressure in future. We want to know how to teach him to accept failure. I tell him I always love him because he is my son, not due to what he done or he achieved. I don't know how well he can understand. We want him to enhance his confidence and EQ. What should we do? Thank you very much. |
