I might consider sending my child to KinderU.  Any comments on this centre?  Are your babies reading like this one?

I think all these super baby is the result of parents' hard word.  

Before sending your little one to any kind of institute, ask yourself if you are prepare to give your whole time and whole heart to your baby.  

Read Glenn Doman's publication, and see if you are prepare to:

1. Make at least 10 flash card a day.
2. teach your baby 9 time a day, each time at least 30 minutes apart.
3. each time for 5 minutes.

Sound easy?  try it for a month, if you think you could do it, you don't have to send your baby to kinderU to achive such result.  If you can't, it's a waste of money on your side.

The bottom line is, school will not teach your baby for you, only you can.

Wish your baby happy learning.

No offence to any school/institution but I support the comment of ccming34.

If you use your time to play cards with your baby following Glenn Doman's method and to read stories to them, he will become early reader.

If you use your time to talk to him and play with him, he will be a happy baby and will have good relationship with you.

No pain, no gain.

Is Doman Method effective for teaching Chinese?  Doman is not even Chinese.

Your daughter looks extremely smart and pretty.  Do you teach her to read as well?  How is the result?  Can she read as well as this two year old??  Is this 2 year old baby normal or extraordinary?

My first daughter recognized and read out many Chinese sentences when she was 3 years old.  You can click to view her Reading Video.  She is a happy reader now.

My second daughter finished learning +-X/ when she was seven months old.  I have once tested her understanding on addition when she was five months old through 2 choose 1 testing and she successfully solved 3 out of 3 additional problems.  I have not tested her further.  Now she is learning encyclopedia knowledge.

Please read the series of Glenn Doman's books such as "How to teach your baby to read" if you are interested.  His focus is on input but not output.  He thought that testing have more meaning for parent but not the baby so parent should not test the ability of their baby but should believe their learning ability.

Again, neither myself nor my daughter has attended any such course.

All babies are extraordinary.  They are learning things everyday.  Their achievement is largely depend on the cultivation of parents, in a love and patient way.

Are you full time mother???  Do you just teach her privately at home?  How many hours do I need to spend teaching and preparing materials??

Adults in our family goes to work so we have to rely on a centre/school.  Agree that parents are best teachers and a good school can be helpful.  The sad thing is that not too many schools in Hong Kong has the true dedication to help.

Preparation of teaching materials do take time, it cannot be counted.  You can download some from my website and change them to fit your needs.

Teaching last for less than 15 minutes per day, divided into 2 to 3 five-minute sessions.  One session in the morning and one to two sessions in the evening.

Both my wife and myself need to work fulltime to earn living.

Even you or your baby attended any school, you need to prepare yourself for spending plenty of time to teach your baby yourself everyday and this is the key of success.

Will you allow your maid to teach your baby??

I encourage the maid to read stories to the baby, but not using cards.  Maid may not know the spirit of the method and may be too pushy which may finally destroy the learning interest of baby.

first of all, i would like to thank you for your brillant website. i learnt a lot there.

my baby is now 1 month and 3 weeks. i m using your black dot card to play with him and i m making use of the leave period to make the word cards for him. i would like to seek your advice:

1) at what month will he be able to read the 5 inch height chinese words? or in other words, how can i know he is able to read them?

2) at what month will he be able to read the 4 inch height english words?

3) do u make the cards by using words from books for him to read, e.g. the ready readers mentioned in your website?

4) i found it difficult to find the source for making chinese books. any advice?

apart from the above, i would also like to seek your advice on how to train the baby to crawl. i ve read Doman's books but as i do not know how to make the crawling track, i found it difficult to find a suitable surface for my baby to crawl. any advice?

i read from your website that your younger daughter crawled on a bed. but i found my baby refuse to move on the bed, any advice?

i would also like to know how to train him to raise his head. whenever he's on his tummy, he turns his head to the left or to the right and refuses to raise his head. is his neck not strong enough? (but seems his neck is v. strong in his upright position).

pls. advise.

The timing for reading different size of words depends on the progress of the baby.  You can start with 6 inch height font and gradually reduce the size to see whether the baby can still concentrate or appear to be confused by the small words.  Normally they can read 2 inch heigh font when they are 2 years old.

3. Sometimes I will use the words from books.  Ready reader is a good chooice.  You can also find "Oxford Reading Tree" series from library.  Another choice is "Magic Box".

Bed is a good place to practice crawling but it is too early for your baby to crawl.  Just let him have more chance to be on his tummy and he will soon be able to raise his head.

Yes, I think the centre is for trainning parrots. Am I wrong? I show the flash cards  to my parrot 3 times a day. Now it can say"How are you?" and "Good night" Oh! It's a super parrot. But you know, it's time consuming,so I want to send it to a centre.
For my own BB,I will teach him at home instead. Because I don't want him to be bored and lost interests in learning in later development.

I personally do believe early childhood education and flash cards method.  But i dislike so many robots here to act as "younger sister" to post a lot of stupid msgs here.
