港大商學院首辦理學碩士 取錄62人

港大理學碩士（商業分析）課程總監李曉惠表示，下學年招生將於下月展開，首屆兼讀制計畫錄取四十人。


　　(星島日報報道)經濟市場瞬息萬變，商業分析人才需求愈趨殷切，香港大學經濟及工商管理學院今年首辦全日制理學碩士（商業分析）課程，首屆收生六十二人，昨舉行開學典禮。商學院指，本年初招生以來共收到逾千份申請，競爭相當激烈。

　　剛於七月履新的商學院院長蔡洪濱，在典禮上致辭指，現今全球發展步伐飛快，經濟市場瞬息萬變，商業模式也變得多元，商業分析課程正可培育跟上經濟變化趨勢、了解市場分析，從而能實戰的人才。

　　商學院共收到一千零三十份申請，最終取錄六十二人，新生來自香港、內地和歐美等十一個國家及地區，當中三成七人有企業工作經驗。課程總監李曉惠表示，新生的學科背景多元，她曾面見一名本科讀英文系、在跨國零售企業工作的申請者，「並非只有商業相關背景才能報讀，我們想錄取清楚知道自己職業目標的學生。」

　　李曉惠又指，未來兩三年，課程或進一步加入關於人工智能、程式編寫在市場上應用的部分；下學年除全日制外，還將新增兼讀制，適合一些希望進修的在職人士報讀。

這些商業及技術 jargon , 最多一個半個 module ，學到幾多，方便吹水作大！

Per above description of course, I think it is called Quantitative Analysis that is related to Statistics etc.

Quantitative not suitable for arts and low Maths standard student. I don't
Know the real target students.

據女兒講，中大的會計學位(PACC)今年都多了兩科選修科供同學選讀:國際稅務和商業會計數據分析。在三大的會計學士課程中，只有中大會計有Master水平的會計選修科目，而國際化和大數據好明顯都係發展的方向。

女兒話看過course outline，知道Accounting Data Analytics for Business有lab堂講用Rapidminer和R做data mining。

估計港大的新課程都應該係著重商業應用的教學，而非Big Data的數學和統計理論。

If the name of " Quantitative Analysis "  were correct,  City University had this program since 1990's.  this program belongs to Business section.  This QA program covers Statistics, Operation Research etc.  because I studied in my MBA program before. Of course, if HKU launched this program, the contents should be more than my previous study.

英文名係Master of Science in Business Analytics。
