關於考鋼琴試

請問考3級琴之前，是否至少半年前要開始練3隻考試歌&scales，sight reading 和aural?另外，一開始咗練考試歌，老師還會教其他歌呢?定係只集中教考試範圍呢?那麼半年只彈考試歌咪好悶?

她就是說這七個月只集中教考試範圍，請問這是普遍做法嗎?咁個學生咪沒機會學其他歌?

仔仔今個星期六考四級，用了六個月準備，暑假時可花的時間較多。不過每星期老師還會有其他新曲要他學與練。

準備時間六個月，一開始有練下其他曲，最後兩個月只操考試。以上只適用勤奮學生，如學生少練琴，handle 不到考試及其他書一齊，只操考試也不足為奇。

我仔剛10月中考完4級,之前6個月開始學歌先一首一首咁去,再到考前3個月開始練scales,sight reading 和aural,其間會學下其他歌仔同練手指技巧!如果剩係練考試既嘢會令小朋友好悶冇興趣.

用幾多時間真係因人而異，我自己習慣scale平時就做好哂，應付到scale 才開考試歌，同時都會彈下其他野，開歌到考約6個月。我仔考3級時，由開歌到考約3個月，亦有學生因練琴不足，拖拖拉拉搞左成年

如遇上如此浪費孩子時間的老師，馬上把他換掉。他無法帶你孩子進入音樂之門的。

多謝各位的意見。我小朋友都算勤力，每天都花一小時練琴，之前一路有學scales。我會報下年4月考試，9月中已開歌，也開始自己練sight reading(由grade 1 exam 本sight reading 練起)，而上堂時老師會要佢試grade 2 exam本sight reading)。小朋友上個月已練緊2首考試歌，現在也開始埋第3首。老師話遲下教aural。但距離4月考試還有半年會否教些新歌，她說只會集中考試範圍，不會教新歌。如果想彈新歌，叫我小朋友自己在thompson本書選想彈的歌，自己學彈！

二百多小時準備三級試，很多了。你有目標分數嗎？

No idea, it's my child's first piano exam, just hope my child can do the best. Do u think the piano teacher should teach some new songs alongside with exam preparation?? But she stressed that my child can learn and practise any songs from the Thompson grade 2 book without the teacher. In other words, the teacher is not going to teach my child new songs during this half year exam preparation, I just wonder if it's normal or not.....

I didn't expect a half year exam preparation would mean that my child will miss a half year in learning new songs....

If this is normal, I will let my kid to take as few exams as possible in the future.....ie. skip some grades

Wow, you kid only spent 3 months on exam preparation, well done!! My kid does spend 1 hr on playing piano every day, so I just wonder why spend half year on exam preparaion, and the piano teacher said she is not going to teach new song during this period, if my kid wants to learn new songs, she suggested my kid can just choose and learn songs from the book without her teaching!!!! Doesn't it sound weird??

咁已經開始左的樂曲進度如何?老師是否每堂都有地方要改?雖然係就係悶d，但老師如果每堂都polish下，可能是aim for high mark(雖然我唔太同意花太多時間在exam內容上)

When your child starts to learn new pieces, his (or her) interest is usually heightened and he is willing to practice for relatively long time.  As months go by, if the 3 examination pieces and scales are his only focus, his progress will slow down dramatically and he will be losing interest.  This is especially obvious for lower grades where the selected pieces are not great pieces of music.

I always believe that daily practice is mandatory but the quality of practice is more important.  Normally, to prepare for grade 3 examination, spending 30 minutes daily to cover all the pieces & scales is more than enough.  I cannot find any reason spending all the time just practicing examination materials but neglecting the normal piano skill learning.  Of course, I know there are some teachers who only teach exam pieces, sorry, they will always be bad teachers.  They do not teach music, they force students into doing examinations.

I hope you understand that piano examination is a nuisance as long as the student has not developed his basic technical skill.  And this skill cannot be acquired , or can only be learned to a very limited extent through playing examination pieces.
