Just experience sharing for your information.

BD has been one of the bookstores I use to purchase children books in recent years. The experience has been satisfactory until late last year.

Before last Christmas, I have placed two orders with them. However, both orders were lost. For one lost delivery, they refunded and I have to place the order again which finally arrived my home. For the other one, I told them I don't want refund but a re delivery. At the end, the redelivery got lost too.

For the only successful delivery I received for the re-order, I found it's no longer delivered by Royal Mail. Upon further checking, I found out they have changed their delivery logistics for HK. Am afraid this has caused the problem.

For the orders placed with fishpond and amazon, they all came to me by Royal Mail timely and successfully.

My friend also had a bad experience with BD in his first purchase last Nov. He did not receive the books 6 weeks after dispatch and BD suggested him to "check with his local post office". Then he asked for a refund. Two of the three books arrived a week later but they were sent out from Tseun Wan dated after the refund. Even worse, one of the two books sent to him was a wrong one. It seems the problem started after Amazon bought BD.

Their Customer Service is not helpful. Besides providing a refund, they are not able/willing to do anything further despite my request for investigation and contact details of their CS management.

In summary, I would recommend thebookpeople, fishpond and amazon for English children books.

My recent purchases with BD were nice, but I found another online bookstore is also good, fishpond.com.

May I know how recent was your last purchase and how many orders have you placed with them in recent months?

For me, only one of the four deliveries was successful in the past two months. I really hope they are able to locate the root cause and fix the problem quickly.

I have no shopping experience with shopinhk before.
Just did a sample comparison by checking the prices of Beast Quest and Magic Tree House between shopinhk and fishpond. Obviously, shopinhk is more expensive.

I had similar experience for an order made near Christmas but they resend the books to me and receive at early Jan.
I just placed a big order at BD and hope to receive them safely and completely.

I read news after last Christmas about BD compensating NZ customers for being late in delivering their books.  Perhaps the new delivery company is not capble to handle the volume of delivery during Christmas.  My last order with BD was made in November and it was fine.

Same here.  I have ordered from BD for many times and seems ok.

Ordered again last early Dec, received nothing as at mid Jan, emailed twice and got refund.

Perhaps the delivery is not longer good

Yes, I ordered via BD in Dec and only got my book yesterday. I emailed to inquire but they have offered nothing to help except to "check my local post office". They must have changed their delivery logistics!

I had ordered a few times with 1 bad experience. Email them and got replied "check local post office", after 1 week or so, told BD the mail was lost. Then they resend the order and finally received the order.

Last order few weeks ago, arrived without any problem.

哈！仲以為我咁bad luck得我一個收唔到書！I ordered 8 books through BD in early Dec last year, only 2 came in late Jan, the others are still not coming yet! Are they mailing the books by ship?? Think I won't purchase from them anymore, it's so annoying!!!
