I also have a question in mind. Personally i prefer Enopi due to Kumon focus on drilling mechanical skills but without critical thinking elements. However if our children will be going to local schools taught in Chinese, then there's a problem with Enopi as it is in English.
For local school teaching in Chinese, any other math course suitable? Or could someone whose children studying in Chinese local schools share their opinions and experience, like which math course your children are studying, or if they're learning Enopi, does it help?
I think it was useful in Kindgergarten Stage (if your school is Eng. Maths).
After the kid go into Primary School, I don't think it was useful in Hong Kong as a lot of school is Chi, Maths and Enopi is good for thinking not just calculation. I heard a lot of mum said 奧數 and 學林 is more useful as it was teaching the kid how to anlysis the question (文字題)。
Kumon should not my choice. If you can ask your kid to practice maths worksheet everday, it also same.
Never agree with Kumon's concept, old traditional and not creative at all...however, all depends on kids' personality, if the kid is quite, like to follow instruction, 唔鍾意自己拿主意.should situable to Kumon..
