I don't know 盲人協會(石硤尾). I can only comment on Polyvision - it is a subsidary of Poly Univierstiy. My kid has tried the centre located in Hopwell centre. The environment is good with lot of advanced equipment to assist the checking. Pretty details as it took around 45 minutes to finish the whole process. I remember it will check for long/short shortsighted, eye pressure, 散光, 斜視、白內障&青光眼(some people has inborn 白內障&青光眼, that means higher risk of 白內障&青光眼 when getting old, so, it is good to discover early so as to take more precautious measures), etc.
My friend has tried Polyvision and the eye centre located in Poly University (another subsidary of Poly U), she commented the later 再詳細一點. But both are fine.
The good point about Polyvision or the eye centre located in Poly U is that you can 馬上配眼鏡 instead of visiting the outside 眼鏡舖.
I want to bring my kid to the centre located in Poly University, do you have tel no. for reservation. Thanks

Many thanks for your detailed info. Then I try the Polyvision.
Yes, you can make glasses in Polyvision right after the examination. Just like outside shops, price varies from a few hundred to more than $2000, it all depends on what frame and what kind of glasses you have chosen.
I think most little kids will not be co-operative with some tests, especially the one that wil blow some wind into their eyes to test the eye pressure, and then another one to put the "eye water" into their eye for more reliable testing of short/long sightedness. Don't rely on the people there to comfort your child as they all are strangers to your kids, I brought the favourite foods of my kid with me, whenever she refused to do the testing, I will induce her with with her favourite foods. This works for my girl as she likes eating a lot : )
I will mainly recommend centres like Polyvision to 學童 only.
Adult, good to have such a testing too if you don't mind spending $400. Share with you my own case, after my kid had done the testing, I visited this centre 3 months later as I wanted to buy new glasses.....and I was shocked to know that I have inborn 白內障 after the testing. Frankly speaking, never thought of this before. This inborn 白內障 has no effect on me now, but I will have relatively higher risk of 白內障 when I am old......so, the professionals there teach me how to protect my eye starting from now. So, I am glad I have done this testing.

I fully agree the above cos our kids are small and have weak judgement skill . Hence, I would rather trust non-profit making organization than profit making shops. We do not know which shop is black shop.
