Re: Please share: Worried about their Chinese level?
| I don't think any mom here looks down upon Chinese.  If so, we don't have to teach our children Chinese or arrange Chinese classes for our kids.  In fact, I do think all of us want our children to be bilingual.  The issue is how can that be achieved and how good you want your children at both languages.
From my point of views, local school children do have better Chinese than international school children.  Unfortunately, since good secondary schools are taught in English, it is very difficult for their Chinese to be very good as well.  I attended local schools but I don't find my Chinese is good.  Unfortunately, my English is not good either.  My believe is that I don't have to worry about my child's English if she goes to an international school.  Then, at least, I don't have to worry about two languages.  I can focus my time and effort in enhancing her ability on Chinese only.  Since we are living in a Chinese environment, it is a lot easier to motivate my child to learn Chinese in leisure.

 my 2 cents
