DGS Request Letter

DGS application :
Submit a request letter plus student profile to get an application form.

Anyone can provide a sample for my reference.  Deadline is coming in this Friday.

1. Why you choose DGS: all-rounded, 国際視野, various extra-activities(you'd better read through their website before writing).
2.  introduce your daughter, show the ability of your daughter, attaching documents to show the special talent /achievement /exposure of your daughter(at least one)
3. your sincerity and effort about supporting the school and your daughter in her school life

Be sincere and confident. As I know, if no background, they like to choose girl with special talent or/and independent or/and outstanding academic result(top 1-3). Train your daughter's english and confident for the interview.

Thank you for all your comment.  Before reading all your messages, I have presented today.  Just a simple covering letter to ask for an application form.  I have prepared a profile according to their requirement.  Actually, I don't think my daughter can get an application form.  我是一隻牛, 只管去做, 反正只是失去了一小時的睡眠時間, no harm, why not!

請問你request letter 和自薦信內容是否差不多?

Request letter 係web-site一句句度出黎, 只係兩句話想申請, 希望得到申請表一份.

無自薦信, 但有校長推薦信. 我校人人都有, 一份免費, 其餘$20/letter. 我取了幾份, 但內容份份一樣的.  此信已含所有重要事項, 所以無什麼自薦信了.

但個 profile 有個 list詳列所有獎狀, 証書.....

That's all.  快d啦, deadline 快到了.

想要申請表都要寫request letter,名校真是多野搞.

你的証書是否和profile一起交上去架?我們老師話面試時才show出來,不過和你d 名校可能又不一樣呢?

DGS Web-Site describe very clear :
1) 3 years school reports
2) profile
3) Self address envelope

Because I feel so strange to submit just the above documents without saying what do you want.  Then, I call DGS and the girl told me to write a request letter.

Without profile, 就係連張form都羅唔到.

其實我在想, 無家長好似我咁 post 出黎問人, 因大多有料人士報讀, 那裡有我呢種不自量力的人去撞運氣ah.

My personal advice, 無論報邊間round 1, 有幾多料都要去盡, 人有你無, 會輸sit一點.  把所有cert copy, 連同報名表一齊上.  老師話有d學生無野上, 家庭照(老中青, 愈多人愈好)都放幾張, 証明注重家庭生活.

agree 樂樂 : 我都有放D 在學校陸運會,水運會及親子旅行一家三口影的家庭照上profile, 重寫埋caption添, 話俾學校聽你地係幾咁support 囝囝囡囡, 我覺得點都攞到D分架

今日去探camp, 見到好多家長, 當然吹水. 佢個女成績好, 但課外活動少, 佢上小學成績表 to DGS, from P1 to P6.  我話人地要P4 to P6, 你上多啦.

佢話唔理, 佢年年成績好, 無其他, 咪比晒人睇"羅"

Dear BK parents,

Do any BK parents receive the application form from DGS after submitting the portfolio to DGS ?
I remember that if we are lucky enough to pass the 1st round screening process, we have to submit the completed application form to DGS by 30 Jan 2005.

Just rec'd DGS' letter, no chance.  My daughter also asked her classmate who has also rejected by DGS.  But that girl was accepted by GHS.

昨日收信.  No la.. 我個女讀書只是一般, 不過學校一切事務, 佢都有份參與, 所有老師都很喜歡佢, 話佢樂於助人 (其實係八卦).
