because after my friends visit yesterday, they said they heard their K1 class speak so good english and madarin when playing. it makes me so surprise that K1 class can speak so well.

yes, I agreed their K1 is quite good. Both English and Mandarin teacher are very professional. Only concern is the tutition fee is quite expensive.
In fact, they surprised me too when I heard K1 student can speak quite well mandarin to their mandarin teacher, as I always think it is not surprised if they can speak fluent english, as some are english native speaker, and even they are not but most of their parent or helper suppose could speak english, so I just don't know how some of their kids can speak mandarin so well too if in fact they are not mandarin native speaker.

yes, i agree with you that tt is so expensive, compare to other int'l kindergarten, but i heard  they can go to other int'l kind in K2or k3, ex. ics, singarore.., maybe that is let them to have a good basic at beginning, so may be i will let my child go in first.

Dear Kumiko,

Yes, my child is studying K1 there, I satisfied with this school. My kid enjoys her school life so much, as both english and mandrain teachers are professional and experience, she can sing a lot of english and also mandarin songs. She can speak fluent english but not in mandarin. As no one at home speak mandarin with her, but I observe that she can understand what the teacher said but just can't express herself in mandarin. However, I found that two of her classmates can speak quite fluent in mandarin, I don't know how they can do, as they are Hong Kong people not from mainland China, if I get opportunaty to chat with their dad or mum, I will share with you all later.
There are Christmas and Summer concert held in December and June respectively, it is really a good experience for the kids and it is good to see how the kid perform on the stage.
Also, there are some field trips during the school term, parent or helper are invited to come with the kids.
Some mummy comment's that they don't like classroom teacher speak english and mandarin with Hong Kong accents, they do right but I am not really care about it, as in fact the classroom teacher is always be the one sit behind the kids, she just a assistant, the students are mainly communicated with english/mandarin teachers only. However, I observe that not all the classroom teacher can't speak well, it depends your luck.
The disadvantage is the money and the connection with the primary, as tutition fee is quite expensive and they have no connection with any primary school.
For my child, she will quite soon. It is really a tough choice, I like this school so much as it suited for my need, nice and clean campus with bilingual program. However, my husband insist that we must change as ESF primary is our target, so my kid is going to ESF kinder soon.

That is all my comments about this school.I don't want to comments too much, I don't want to be too hard sell , but I think you all can search some more comments from previous discussions. You could find some good and bad comments too.

My son is in ESF Tsing Yi in the morning and Tutor Time for 1.5 hours in the afternoon.  He only started at ESF last month.  However, I must say that I like Tutor Time much better - excellent curriculum, caring teachers and low student to teacher radio.  

You can consider putting your kid for the 1.5 hours madarin at Tutor Time in the afternoon if you are concern about his/her Chinese level.  I found out some parents do that.

I do agreed with you that Tutor Time is very good. I believe my daughter and I will miss this school so much.
I am thinking about to put my daughter back to Tutor Time to attend Mandarin class too. However, afternoon mandarin class will only start at 3:00p.m.. How did you manage if your son go to ESF in the morning, the finished class at 11:30a.m. but go to Tutor time at 3:00p.m.. He must be tried to travelling. Did he take afternoon nap?
Can you share with me why did you change your son to ESF? Is this because of connection with ESF primary school?

when i visited TT, i heard who speak fluent Mandarine is Mr. Cory class, because that is during the transition period, from Mandarin sension change to English Sesion.
i want to ask can we choose the teachers for next year?
which class do your daughter attend?
is id Mr. Cory class?

Hi lilimum,

Mr Cory and Ms Pascale's class are also good. They are experience teachers. Actually I heard someone who can speak fluent mandarin is from Ms Pascale's class.
Not sure if you could choose the teachers for next year but I think you could try to ask if you want.

My son goes to ESF Tsing Yi in the morning.  Then he has lunch at home and attends the English session of TT from 1:30-3:00 p.m.  He is very delayed in his language development and we decided to give up Mandarin for the time being and let him concentrates on English only.  Yes, the only reason I picked ESF Tsing Yi was its connection with ESF primary schools.

Which primary school did your friends's kids go after ESF kinder?
Which kinder did you choose for your daughter now? What is your plan for your daughter? Are you target for ESF primary or some other international primary school?
Sorry for so many questions. As I am always interesting to know others's point of view.
