International Kindergarten

hi all,
can anyone tell me about international kindergarten?
if i let my daughter to enter international one, should i speak english to her at home?
if i let her to go to international school afterwards, can she enter the local universities? or it is a MUST to sent her to foreign countries?
Pls help!!!!

my comments are if you can studying at International school there is no chinese for your child, you have to teach then Chinese yourself.  Actually it is really up to you.

I don't know much about int'l kindergarden.   However, my daughter is now studying in int'l primary, I could share some info I know...  She has mandarin lesson every day for 40 minutes, learning speaking and written (traditional) chinese.   I heard that local universities reserve seats for Int'l school student - I haven't double-check yet, other BK mums may confirm this point.

Before you get a chance for an interiview, of course you need to speak English to your kid as often as you could or enroll some after-school english classes.   You know, no matter what kind of language, "practice" is #1 important.

My daughter is now studying in Japnese Int'l School (JIS) - can choose japanese or mandarin as the 2nd language.   Hong Lok Yuen Int'l school (HLYIS) is another one in Taipo, which also has daily mandarin lesson.   Where do you live?

Thanks for your info.  Don't know that JIS has so much Chinese to learn.  I lived in Kowloon West, so Tai Po may be too far for me.  Anyway, thanks.

JIS has two streams.   Japanese streams is for japanese citizens and English stream = international section, i.e. All subjects are taught by English, except the Mandarin or Japanese lesson.    There are 5 japanese/japanese mixed Chinese in my daughter's class.  2 of them speak fluent english and the other are not bad too.
