Hi

I witness that most ESF students love reading.  The school is very  successful in training the students' reading skill.  How does CDNIS students compare to ESF students in this aspect? Would any CDNIS student's parents give me any  clue?

There is a saying that CDNIS's standard is low and the students are not behaving well, but in a recent school visit, I was really impressed by the school facilities and the fact that they teach traditional Chinese (not simplified Chinese).  would any CDNIS parents share their experience with me?

My boss' son and my family doctor's girl also attend Canadian International, the 2 fathers give good comments on the school, mostly the facilities.

CDNIS facilities is excellent but not their 成績....my 2 cousin was studying in CDNIS for nearly 8 years...their english is bad, chinese is bad.....after 8 years, their family have financial problem, both of them have to quit and turn back to local school, only 三育中學 accept them, and my cousin's HKCEE result is 0 分......

This is the first time I heard so many bad comments about CDNIS.  

Any parents with child studying in CDNIS can give comment?

Anybody can compare CDNIS to Singapore or 蘇浙國際 or CIS?

My friend's son also study in CDNIS, but her son cannot speak in Mandarin even he study in grade eight now and his chinese is very poor. So I think I shall send my son to CAIS, even he can pass the interview in CDNIS.

My friend's son is studying in CDNIS at the moment. He can speak good english. I have been there a few times. For what I hv seen, all the students were communicating in English. But I have no idea about those students of higher grade. I used to think CDNIS's standard has improved a lot for the past few years. It may not be the first choice some time ago, but the first choice for many parents nowaday becoz of its strong emphasis on Chinese..
yet, if i could choose, i will choose CIS, SIS and then GSIS...

Oh, really. So many bad comments!!! Low standard and bad behaviour!

The school fee is high and also need to pay $300,000 debenture. Why so many person still let their children go to this school.

How about AIS? This one is much more expensive, is it good?

Previous comments of AIS is not good as well.  Students are not behaving very well.  Expensive does not necessarily mean "good".

My niece has been studying at CDNIS for 3 years starting from Reception.  Because of low standard of Chinese, her parents decided to change her to CIS now.  She had to adjust a bit at first by hiring private tutor and now she is coping up very well.

I have seen the discipline is very loose at CDNIS, I learned from my friends' kids' classmates are having 2-5 ear pierce for each ear, could be the school cannot stop them from doing this.....

OH YES, ENGLISH  IS REQUIRED TO SPEAK DURING CLASS LESSONS AND PLAYTIME AT SCHOOL  LIKEWISE WRITTEN ESSAYS ARE REQUIRED AS DAILY HOMEWORK.  

How is the overall learning atmosphere in KCIS?
EXTREMELY FUN AND HAPPY, NO BLUE DAYS.  PARENTS ARE VERY SOPHISTICATED AND NICE.

How can you compare KCIS and CIS?
SCHOOL FEES & DEBENTURE.

Quit frankly, if the parents are considering international school, discipline may be of concern but the learning atmosphere should only be secondary. Many parents still hold the mysterious thought that good examination results should indicate a good educated students but it is just a mess created by HK education system. My own local school experience told me that schools have spoon-fed so much excessive materials to the kids regardless of individual interests and development and it just hurts the kids as much as it helps. I have seen so many straight A students who only knows how to deal with books and get good exam results but fail to deal with people and the practical world. Some of them are even so proud of their results but they fails to realise that they have basically wasted the whole of their childhood on book materials which they never use for the rest of their life.

Quite the opposite, a good international school should really provide a good curriculum which spend as little as possible to spoon-feed kids but raise their interests through various form of activities. In this sense, I think CNDIS may not be a bad school.

Disciplinary problem should be of concern. However, the common situation I find is that many parents will put school to blame when their kids have disciplinary problem. However, it is likely that those parents did not even spend 30 minutes on daily basis to talk to their kids after their schooling.

Now, I am wondering if the disciplinary problem of CDNIS is only confined to their high school students who wear 5 earrings and got 0 marks in HKCEE?!
