Re: 華英或上智好

Dear Youma,
謝回覆, 但為甚麽在2005年高考上智比華英差那麽多, 而入U率, 上智又比華英好呢? 希望你不會介意我太多問題.
I am sorry I don't know the exact answer for your question. You are better to ask the parents of these 2 schools about the reasons. However I want to add some points.
1. In 2004, Holy Trinity (上智) has eight elites (尖子) entering local universities from F6 through 拔尖計劃 (Wa Ying had 2 尖子 only in 2004). These elites could skip F7 and did not sit for HKAL Exam. That may be one of the reasons why Holy Trinity got weaker results in the HKAL in 2005.
2. The % entering universities (入U率) of a secondary school may not be proportional to its % of getting “A” in HKCEE. In fact, a student can still have good chance to university if he/she has some sort of BBBCCC results (preferably including Eng and Chin) without "A" in HKCEE. Getting "A" is nice to have but not a must. In other words, on the average sense, Holy Trinity may have quite a good proportion of F7 students eligible to universities, despite its % of getting "A" was less than Wa Ying in 2005.
3. Having said that, we should bear in mind that different schools have different interpretation of "入U率". For example, some schools count overseas universities but some do not. Besides, we may be also concerned which universities the grauduates mostly go to. Hence, this "入U率" is for reference only. Personally I am not too serious about it.
