DBS - A top local school which shifts to adopt IS style of education

DBS will also open one or two classes for IBD. Now DBS has renamed various levels to Grade 1, Grade 2... Grade 11, Grade 12, etc. like those IS.

When will DBS offer IBD? How do they split the exisiting students?

DBS will be very different to GSIS.  Are you sure you want to switch?

Now that your son has completed the school year.  What do you think of the GSIS and how does it compare to ESF?

Hi christf,

As far as I know, GSIS is a real IS while DBS is not.  They are different types of school carry different culture and teaching approach.  In fact, GSIS is already a top IS and I don't  think there's any temptation for you to swift your son to DBS.

幾歲人仔，已經讀過 4 間學校囉喎，唔係太大問題都無謂轉校啦。
初初入 ESF ，講到 ESF 點好點好，讀讀下，覺得有少少不滿，
就轉去 GSIS；當時轉去 GSIS，你好開心架，成日上黎宣揚 GSIS 點好。而家你孩子都到你口中全港最好的 IS，讀了一年，又話有問題？
我睇番你講你現在的問題，同埋諗番你以往的 MESSAGES，我覺得你其實應該認真檢討下自己呢？
可能你自己唔覺得，但係我就覺得你個人幾自大，但一山還有一山高，雖然孩子係父母中係最好的，但係有時唔雖要太狂妄，下下暗踩其他人，實在不必。
當然，這些表現，可能只代表在網絡上的你，現實生活中可能你唔係咁樣的言談表現啦，不過，如果你平時同其他人 interact 都係咁，可能學校其他家長，會覺得你難相處。
講真，搵學校同結婚都係一樣，要相方配合，鬼唔知出面大把靚仔靚女，唔係要見一個愛一個卦？ 間間學校，你都可以覺得唔合意，我覺得係你的問題多 d。

Dear Christf,

Thanks for sharing your information of IS in this column.  May I know why you said:

- My boy could hardly find good friends at GSIS
- We also found it difficult to establish a closer relationship with other parents

I thought GSIS is the best IS in HK.  A lot of people would like their children study there but you just want to pull him out?

As your son has been with GSIS for several months, do you think if GSIS is the school that can meet with your expectation?  Can you please share with us what's the prons and cons of this school, and if GSIS is still really the top IS in your mind?

You were very frank in expressing your opinions.

Quite a few things you said match with my observations.

What is the best for satisfying a parent's ego may not be the best for the interest of a child.

We will be told DBS is best of the best when Mr "I am the best" has really transferred his child.

I think all parents appreciate your sharing your views. However, I would also suggest that you THINK before you hit the button. It is really sick to see you call other parents "low quality" every time they have opinions different from you. It is not the first time you are using such insulting words.
