Hi Everyone,

My kids who are British citizens, are going to study in the UK state school (not boarding).

Does anyone know if they need to take any exams or tests to enter the school?

Or do I need to just live near the school?

Hi Fion,

If your child wishes to get into a Grammar School (Year 7-13), then 'Yes' your child needs to take a Test called '11 Plus' when s/he is in Year 6. For more information, please visit the following link,

(Only 1/3 of the 152 local councils in England & Wales have Grammar School in its areas.)
