"倫敦政治經濟學院(LSE)得益於開辦學科出路受經濟影響較少,畢業生就業比率不跌反增,終在15年來首次超越牛津,進佔第2。"
Perhaps I may be allowed to comment on the latest employment rate of fresh graduates from Cambridge, LSE, and Oxford.
First most important is that Cambridge is always a more practical university than Oxford. It offers many practical and highly employable undergraduate courses not available at Oxford, e.g. architecture, education, land economy, and veterinary medicine.
LSE is a specialized institution. It offers some very marketable undergraduate courses not available either at Oxford or Cambridge, e.g. accounting and finance, and applied statistics and actuarial science.
Oxford's approach to education is somewhat unique.
Whereas other universities offer law, Oxford offers jurisprudence.
Unlike Cambridge, Oxford does not offer management studies at undergraduate level.
What does it mean to have an Oxford education?
Is employability the main measuring rod?
Is employability the main reason for going to a university, any university, in the first place?
Perhaps we should ask ourselves more questions before using any so-called university rating.
