如果無外國護照,請問係唔係好難入ESF既中學?要具備什麼條件?

ESF secondary would give priority to ESF primary students. If there are really seats left, then they will interview "outside" sutdents. The situation every year is different but generally, you can expect an extremely challenging admission test and interview, if there would be any at all. Last year, a lot of ESF primary students and newly arrived expat kids had to be channelled to RC.

RC stands for Renaissance College
It is an ESF Private Independent School (PIS) which provides both primary and secondary education. Although they uses English as medium of teaching, their curriculum has strong emphasis on Chinese language (PTH) and culture. Their campus is in Ma On Shan.

The competition on Kowloon side is very keen again this year, they have re-zoned again to channel those ESF P.6 students from Mei Foo to Tuen Mun from Shatin College to Island School.  So, maybe non-ESF students have higher chance in applying ESF schools on HK side or the 2 new ESF private schools - RC (Renaissance College in Ma On Shan) or DC (Discovery College in Discovery Bay).

Yes, but they expect the students to travel by MTR, just a few stations, or by those buses from Tuen Mun going directly to Central.  Timewise, it is more or less same as travelling to SC or KGV.

Thanks a lot for your comments. My daughter is only 2 years old noe, I am considering whether let her go to inter'l school or not. If yes, which level to transfer her from local school to inter'l is better. Of course, it will be better to transfer after she finish the primary because her Chinese language will be better at that time. However, I am worry about not easy for a local primary school graduate to enter a better inter'l school.

Same like you , my son is just 51/2 months and i am thinking if I should send him to international school in future.  Anybody can give me some advice.  I will for sure send him to overseas to study when he is at the age of around 15 years old.  I am worried if his English is bad, he will have problem to get use to the overseas school.

Many people have the same thinking as you, some of them succeed in doing it, some did not, very much depends on the seats available each year.  Now as the economy is good, many foreigners come to work and their kids will study in IS, so competition for IS places is keen and therefore it is more difficult for local kids to transfer to IS after primary.

If you want the kid to adapt to the change easier and catch up with the higher English standard in IS, I personally think that it is better to switch to IS since P.4 rather than after P.6 (P.4 is equal to Year 5 in ESF), but very much depends if seats are available.  I know some local kids have to wait for a few years for vacancy and still do not succeed.

So now many people choose those IS-like bilingual schools such as ISF, CKY or VSA to match their needs.   Or you can choose Renaissance College which have a bit more Chinese.  There is always give and take.

There are 2 issues here.
One is the actual English language skills. Like others have said, it is a give and take issue. If you want your child to have better Chinese, then she probably cannot be as good in English. Do you want this? Are you sure with English "not as good", she can still enter a good international secondary school? Even she can pass the entrance test and interview etc, can she "survive" the learning style and school life of an international secondary school?
I know that many top students from local elite schools struggle a lot academically and socially at international seconday schools. Their "good English" at local elite schools is merely just "bearly workable" in international schools. They are no longer "top students" because of their language barriers and thus find it even more difficult to get to the top ranks.
International primary school education might seem too unchallenging to some people especially when they are trying to compare the Math cirriculum to local schools. But the English language environment and training (in reading, writing, and speaking) is irreplaceable by those outside afterschool English classes.
Another thing is the culture. Children need to be really immersed in the English environment and culture to be really "good" at English. Besides the language itself, we are also talking about the culture and interests of the English speaking community. Even if you are perfect in spelling English words or have perfect English grammar, if you cannot understand those talks and jokes in the English speaking community, you cannot easily be one of them.
Back to your initially question, you asked "可行嗎". I would say "yes, of course, nothing impossible". But I would say that it would be better if a child can get into the English speaking community earlier. In fact, the earlier the better.
Learning the English language is difficult enough; being able to understand and really live the English speaking culture is the most difficult thing.

please tell me any homework and exam in year 1 to year 6?
What are they doing after school, I only want to enjoy the time with my son and share the reading time and playing the game with him, the school not only tell him to finish the homewotk and revision the dictation.
I am considering to change my son to international schol, anyone can give me comments about RC ,Austrian International school  or other good international school.
