Anyone know if this kinder is going to change the Principal?

No idea. Does it matter? Anything wrong with the old principal or the new one? My son will start K1 there in August.

Attended ESF TY school tour in January and one of the teachers confirmed that the principal will be retiring this summer. If you go to ESF website, you will see they are recruiting for a new principal to join ESF TY.

I am not too sure how this will affect how the school is being run in the future though...hope it will be a good change rather than a bad one. Fingers crossed

Hi kohuei,
How's your feeling in the visit in Jan?  Is that the selection of am/pm class is assigned by the school and be annouced during the visit?

Principal Jeni kicked off the school tour by giving a presentation on the teaching philosophy of ESF Kindies. She emphasized on one thing: if you do not believe in learning through playing, do not send your kid to ESF Kindies. If you think knowledge is acquired through spoon-fed methodology rather than hands-on experiences, ESF is not your cup of tea.

After the presentation, parents are divided into groups and are led by a school teacher who shows parents around the school. Parents will then sit down with the teacher and ask any questions they have in mind. Before leaving, parents will be handed a folder in which a sheet of paper indicates your kid is assigned to an am or pm class.

If you are happy with the offer and believe in their teaching philosophy, return your signed contract with a cheque of HK$9600 to secure your offer.

Just attended the tour yesterday and heard Jeni announced her retirement. It's a pity as Jeni is a very nice lady and I believe she is a good educator too. Hopefully the new principal will be a good one too.

Also good to know that my son got an AM class. Phew! No need to change his sleeping routine.
