2013全英大學排行榜 劍橋大學榮膺冠軍寶座 (夏里巴)

英國《The Complete University Guide》剛公布2013年度全英大學排行榜，劍橋大學壓倒倫大政經學院榮膺冠軍，牛津大學屈居第三，蒸蒸日上的華威大學與全蘇格蘭歷史最悠久的聖安德魯大學同列第六名。

排名最後( 116名)的Bolton大學，有學員九千多人，由於講師╱教授經常樂意與學員打成一片，傳道授業，盡在不言中，所以口碑甚佳，申請者眾。

杏壇絮語
•《The Complete University Guide》2013有排名的英國大學共116所，不上名的三所大學分別是Liverpol Hope、Swansea Metropolitan 和 Wolverhampton，據說是三大學要求不列排行榜，英文原文是‘requested not to be included in the tables.’

排行榜評分標準包括下列五項：
1.入學標準
2.學員滿意度
3.研究評審
4.畢業生出路
5.學術費用

「入學標準」以劍橋的593分為最高，牛津572分次之，倫大帝國學院553分排第三。「學員滿意度」最高分赫然是排55名的白金漢大學( University of Buckingham )，分數4.4，反而牛劍和聖安德魯僅得4.2分。必須一提的是，排67名的小型大學Chichester得4.1分，學員口碑甚佳，盡在不言中。

•白金漢大學是戴卓爾夫人時代成立的大學，最大特色是課程濃縮和假期特短，學員兩年就畢業，取得學士學位，堪稱全英獨一無二，至於課程則以商科和法律最勁云云。

The League Table above is that for 2013. The latest one is 2014.  See http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings
But there are so many of these nowadays that I don't know if one should take them seriously.

Good reminder, I won't believe the university ranking blindly.  But I will check the ranking by subject and also faculties if aim for graduate school.
