Yew Chung 幼兒班/幼稚園好嗎?

any parents to share your experience about this school ?  I would really like to know the condition.  

e,g, are teacher caring and patient to students ? I know they have 2 teachers (in Cantonese & English) similar to that of Victoria.  is the quality of the English teachers good ? My own experience at Learning Habitat (laguna Verde) is not very good.  Also, can kids learn to speak English well ?

VERY GOOD!  Teachers are caring and experienced.  Their NET are foreigners but not Indaians......(sorry not discrimate but they do have some Indian accent!).... Lots of activities but only charge reasonalbe price (transportation fee only)  Not as commercial as thought!  My son have huge development in terms of social abilities and independence....

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Thanks for sharing.  Is the bilingual environment ok at YC? Of course I am not expecting a very small child to speak very fluent Eng.  But i would expect one can understand simple Eng commands and perhaps not afraid to speak a little bit Eng.

they do have some children speak in Cantonese and some speak in English.......

......my son can understand the command of an native English teacher after a few months of school.......

The teacher also said that my son love to communicate in English with a girl (whose mother tounge is English)........

......basically I communicate with my child in Chinese at home........but sometimes in English..........both he can understand

因為 08-09的n1都收左.. 仲心大心細。
始終有家長話好好.. 有d又話唔好...

我個姑奶兩個小朋友都係讀耀中幼兒和幼稚園, 佢強烈推介話好好, 培養到小朋友學學習的興趣仲可以令佢地好鍾意返學, 所以我都同阿仔報左Twos Programme , 黎緊8月開學

my son will also attend the Twos Programme.  they may be classmates then.  But sometimes, the comments about YC is very negative and diverse.  That's worry me, though i don't know if the negative comments are made by existing or previous parents of YC or not.

My baby is stuyding their 2-year programme in the morning, she likes it very much.  Her class teacher Ms Jorika and Ms Chan treats everyone well.  My baby doesn't like to go anywhere but only Yew Chung.  I never feel regret to let my daughter studying at YC though the school fee is....

TUROT T 我都有排,但又係好耐都無回覆, 你試下打去耀中交究報名表比學校, 如果2歲就直接去根德道個間.... 我之前都係要直接問。

學費真係好貴... 所以試左先再決定AUG返唔返, 下星期就返, 到時再同大家回報下...

三日唔知喎... 正常的N1係好像無3日的... SORRY唔知道。

兩歲班無一,三,五，一至五around $4825,冇雜費，但又冇生日會law！

Hi I am very worried too because we live on HK side and I just turned down ViXXXXX and LingXXX and chose Yew Chung for my sons 2s program starting in Aug this year. But as one mom said below, I got very mixed  feedback from parents online. I have attended their seminar twice and was impressed by their teaching philosophy (e.g. develop kid's love of learning, how to learn by themselves etc) that's why I chose them. My impression is that their students are rather smart but not really as well behaved as the ones I met from Braemar Hill (e.g their kids will not give you a 90 degree bow when you enter their classroom or see you in their school but they will look at you curiously and may come and speak to you). But whether or not they are "naughty", it will be depending on your definition.

Any parents whose kids are now in YC nursery have any positive or negative comments to share?

Yew Chung kindergarten, charging such high school fees, has to be a good school.  My child has been studying there since the nursery.  Most of the children in her class continued to the 2-years-old class, and almost all of them continued to the 3-years-old and then to the 4-years-old class now.

All these parents can't be all wrong :)

Hi,

We will move back to Hong Kong from U.S. in the late May for a job assigment.  We called Yew Chung's admission last week.   They didn't tell us any detail.   They will interview my little boy(19 months) after we back to HK.  What are questions in the interview??? Can anyone tell me more about Yew Chung's 2yr old program?  What's the daily schedule of the half day and the full day?  Will they teach more stuffs in the full day class?  What's the teacher to students ratio?  Will they have the outdoor time?  Will they help the potty training?

My child was interviewed by the principal 甘校長.  I remember she gave my child a story book & asked her to read by herself, and then explained to us their philosophy of kindergarten education, to see if we agree or not.  Didn't really asked my child any question.

Back then most of the students in her class took the half-day one, those took the full-day program would just stay behind.  In the 3yr old class the international program is a full-day one, and the local program is half-day.  The class size was about 18 students in the 2-yr class, with 2 teachers and one maid to help them eat and go to toilet.

Hi Tinadaddy,

Thanks for your information.  Do the 2 teachers stay in the classroom at the same?  Or, do they take turn to stay in the classroom?  it's a little bit high of the teacher to students ratio if only one teacher stay in the classroom...

Both teachers stay in the classroom at the same time most of the time.

The school has just called us to offer us a place in AM PN class.  We are hesitated by their school fee .  Do you think it really worth?   They charge almost a double than the local nursery school.  

Also, where are the NET come from?  some so-called international stream nursery schools do not have NET from Canada or Australia.

May I know when YC offered you a place in AM class?  Did they offer you a place in PM class before?  

YC has offered me a place in PM class last year and we are waiting for a place for AM class. I just wonder why they don't top up the students from the waiting list when they have places.
